Burglary is on the increase Are you fully protected? If thieves broke into your home or office tonight would you be Insured? If not your friends con always offer you aympathy. It Is a nice friendly gesture but doesn’t pay many bills. Burglary losses this year will exceed any alnc% the depression years, the present record Indicates. Careful locking and ordinary safety devices will discourago the amateur burglars, but a determined professional, with a little nerve and luck, frequently breaks Into the best guarded homes, offices and stores. That they are usually caught In the long run doesn't repair the damage or replace the thefts. Only Insurance can do this. • New modern simplified home and business policies sre now available for as little or as much coverage as you need. Home policies start as low as *7.50. Business policies can be tailor-made to fit your needs. - -■ Why not call us first. '""'a, . Farm Price Report J Due Next Thursday Slight Increase In Prices Is Expected WASHINGTON (INS) — Farmers will have to wait until next Thursday before they can be sure what Santa puts in their Christmas stockings. That’s the date the agriculture department issues the next - price report showing the relationship between what producers receive for their commodities and what they pay ont for household and farm operating expenses. This report will cover the period from tjud-November to mid-De-cember and the expectation is that it will show at least a slight overall rise in prices received by farmers while costa remain relatively stable. x By now every farmer in the land knows some of the other things he’ll find hung by the chimney with care. Here are a few of them: 1. Social security coverage for the first time for farm operators effective Jan. 1. Some high farm sources outside the government see this as a mixed blessing at best and an attempt may be made in the new congress to upset it. 2. Remove! ofeall controls over the use of so-called "diverted acres” taken out of production of wheat, cotton, and other major crops. This action, however, was accompanied by a drop in support prices of four feed grains—oats, barley, rye and grain sorghums—from 85 to 7® percent of parity to discourage any tendency to overplant them on diverted acres. 3. Virtual assurance that supports en the basic crops—cotton, corn, wheat, peanuts, rice and tobacco will continue at or near 90 percent of parity in 1»55. 4. Tight acreage and marketing controls next year over cotton, wheat and perhaps other crops. Nobody can say for sure what the farmer would like best for a Christmas present. A good guess would he the Ironclad assuraece that the long, long decline In commodity prices is at an end and that from here out It will be simply a matter of bringing his production more in line with consumer demands: OVER 60 DEAD _ (CantlnuX from P« re Qn«) The storm brought the season's first avalanches in the Austrian Tyrol and six persons were killed when a bus skidded off a snowchoked road into a ravine in the Lermont-Ferrand region. Fifteen persons were killed in West Germany and at least two persons are dead In Holland as a result of the storm.
