Good Fellows Busy Making Purchases For City's Needy If you see several people hustling and bustling through the crowded Mores today apd tomorrow, you call be sure they are the Good Fellows purchasing needed ,to .complete the Christmas boxes for the needy. It is im,-, possible to buy this clothing at an earlier date since the Good Fellows must rely on the contributions of merchants, organizations and generous people. Softening investigation cards is quite a problem deciding whether we can afford that dress and coat for the little old lady who can barely exist on* the aid she receives each month and when she can’t stretch that last dollar far enough she must sell a piece of her furniture so she can buy a loaf of bread and a few groceries to tide her over until her next month's aid arrive, or can we buy two pairs of shoes for that family down the street so that these children will have shoes to wear to school, for after all this is no weather for youngsters to be wearing thin soled sandals, or can we afford shoes and boots both for that family where the father has been ill for several years of an incurable illness and where the mother does all sorts of odd jobs as she is determined to give her children an education which she was denied? The toys used in packing these cheer boxes are all donated as it is necessary to use all the funds received for purchasing food and clothing.
