J ANNUAL CHRISTMAS 3 PARTY IS HELD HERE 5 The annual "ChristiuaA party of I the Decatur, home demonstration 4 club was held Wednesday evening I at the Decatur high school in the I" form of a potluck supper "with the officers in charge. iA short business meeting was held, then Mrs. Theron Fenstermaker installed the new officers, who are: president, Mrs. Grover — iLevy; vice-president, Mrs. Carl I Hammond; secretary and treasurer, tyrs. Joseph Hunter; leaders, Mrs Walter Lister, Mrs. Carl Barnett, Mrs. Alva Lawson, and Mrs. Paul Daniels: press reporter, Mrs. Bert Haley, and music chairman. Mrs. Frank Crist. A Christmas program was given by singing carols and .the Christ: mas story was read by Mrs. Gerald Durkin. Readings were presented by Mrs. Bert Haley and Mrs. Grover Levy and a skit vas given by Mrs. Robert Garard. Santa Claus arrived and presented the gifts to a large crowd. Three new members were welcomed into the club.' year a successful one. 'Election of extension otfldfers for Root township was held. Mrs. Omer Merriman and Hugo Boerger were reelected for a two year term. Installation of officers for 1955 was conducted by Mrs. King. The newly elected officers are chairman, William Boerger; vice? chairman, Harold Strahm, secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Leo King. Jr.; social and educational leader, Mrs. William Boerger; assistant social and educational leader, Mrs. Otto Boerger; pet and hobby, Mrs. Fred Kunkel; assistant pet and hobby. Mrs. Edward Peck. Christmas treats were given to all and refreshments were served hy Mrs, Burl Fuhrman, Mrs. Boerger, and Mrs. King, Sr. LADIES SHAKESPEARE CLUB HOLDS MEETING Mrs. C. A. Dugan was hostess to the Ladies Shakespeare clt»» Wednesday, with a carry-in Christmas party. Dinner was served to 23 membets present from tables throughout the entegtainw ing rooms. Mrs. Phillip Macklin presented the program of Christmas stories and meditation's. A social hour followed. The club will meet with Mrs. Harry Moltz January 5. CHRISTMAS PARTY OF LEGION AUXILIARY The American Legion auxiliary unit 43 held its annual Christmas party Tuesday night at 6 o’clock with a chicken dinner at the Legion home. Mrs. Mart Selking gave the invocation. The rooms were decorated for the Christmas season. The group sang Christmas carols, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Stults and Mrs. Perry Strahm sang a solo, accompanied by Mrs. Samuel Jones. Santa Claus arrived and Walter Koeneman gave out the gifts which were placed beneath ' a large Christmas tree. The cdmmittee in charge was J Mrs. R. C. Hersh, Mrs. Elmer Darwachter, Mrs. Ben Eiting, Mrs. Lester Drake. Mrs. Wayne Frauhiger, and Mrs. Frances Monahan. SALEM W. S. C, 8. HOLDS DECEMBER MEETING The Salem W. S. C. S. held their December meeting dt the church. A dinner for their families was . held at the noon hour, the tables ( being decorated in keeping wWi I the holiday theme. . Mrs. Riley, Mrs. Harley Davis, and Mrs, Meyer. The Christmas lesson was given by Mrs. Ronald Bryan. Christmas gifts were exchanged by the members and items were brought for a gift box. The next meeting will be an all day meeting at the home of Mrs. Oscar Young. CHRISTMAS PROGRAM * ON WORLD CHURCH The Trinity W. S. W S. met Tuesday evening for their Christmas program on the world church. Mrs. Charles Feasel was the leader. Mrs. Sephus Jackson played the prelude. The scripture was read by Mrs. Nina Light, Mrs. Blanche Mumma, and Mrs. John Kelly. The group sang many Christmas carols. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Jackson, with 13 members and one child present. Refreshments were served by Mrs. John Kelly, Mrs. John Chambers, Mrs. Ruth Williams, and Mrs. Hubert Cochran v EAGLES AUXILIARY PLANS FOR PARTYThe Eagles auxiliary in a regular meeting recently, completed plans for their Christmas party to be held Tuesday, December 21, at the Eagles hall. A chicken dinner will be served to the auxiliary members at 6:30 o’clock. A $1 gift exchange will be held followed by entertainment. A contribution of sls was given to the Good Fellows club. The next regular meeting will be December 28. “ HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUB IN MEETING The Maty Matrons home demonstration club met at the home of M rs. Walter Thieme Tuesday evening. The meeting was opened by Mrs. Thieme leading the club creed, followed by a prayer by the group. Mrs. Wilbert Thieme led the group in song. Miss Bertha Landis presented the lesson. The remaining officers chosen were leaders, Mrs. Glen Lehrman and Mrs. Arthur Krueckeberg; alternate, MH. Louis Krueckeberg and Mrs. Wilmer Grote, news recorder, Mrs. Otto Thieme; song leader, Mrs? Wilbert Thieme health and safety, Mrs. Albert Anderson. The new members of the club are Mrs. Glen E. Lehnnan, Mrs. Amos Thieme, Mrs. Arthur Krueckeberg, Mrs. Ervin Fuelling, and Mrs. Louis Krueckeberg. Games were played and the pM|e was won by Mrs. Amos Thieme. The Sunny Circle home demonstration club will have a potluck supper and $1.50 gift exchange Monday evening at 6:30 o'clock in the Preble recreation hall. The Junior class of Pleasant Mills high school will sponsor a bake sale Saturday from 9 to 12 at the Floorcraft Store. The Adams Central P. T. A. will have their December meeting Monday at 7:30 o’clock ip. thft school. Four ministers will discuss the Christmas story, and Christmas music will be presented by the high school chorus. Santa Claus will be there.
