TRI KAPPA ASSOCIATE ' CHAPTER HOLDS DINNER 'Mrs. Carl Gerber, assisted by Mrs. Roy Kalver, Mrs. Dan Tyndall an<T Mrs. Ray Keller, served a lovely three-course dinner to members of the Tri Kappa associate chapter Tuesday evening. Dec Orations in keeping with the holiday season were used profusely in the table appointments and entertaining rooms. Following the dinner Mrs. Fred Smith played Christina's which was followed by the gift exchange. MT. PLEASANT WSCS IN RECENT MEETING The Mt. Pleasant W. 8. C. The gift exchange was held. Mrs. Norval Fuhrman offered prayer at the close of the meeting. FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS IN CHRISTMAS PARTY The Ftaithful Followers class of the Mt. Pleasant church met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roger •Singleton Tuesday evening for a potluck supper. Thirty-three were present in all. Following the supper a business meeting was conducted by Roger Singleton, and new officers were elected as follows: vice-president. Roger Singleton, secretary-treas-urer, Mrs. King, Jr., vice-sec-retary-treasurer, Mrs. Roger Singleton; program committee, Mrs. Earl Fuhrman and Mrs. Robert Teeple; entertainment committee, Mrs.* Roger Singleton and Mrs.
Kenneth Singleton. After the business meeting Santa arrived with treats for all the children and received their orders for Christmas. Upon his departure the children sang carqls for him. A Christmas box was packed for Cpl. and Mrs. Robert Fuhrman, members of the class. They are residing in Wasingtbii whil Cpl. Fuhrman is serving in the mrrned JBIRL SCOUT CAROLS SATURDAY AFTERNOON The Girl Scouts of Decatur will have their Christmas carol Saturday. Mrs. Jay Thacker is general chairman and the girls are to meet at 2130 o'clock on the court house steps. . ’ The leaders are responsible for tiansportation of their troops. The girls will sing carols at the Adams county homeland each girl is responsible for a Tree, ornament to decorate the home. They will at the hospital and at the Court House. A Christmas party will be given for the Girl Scouts by the council at the Presbyterian church from 4 to 5. Mrs. Ralph Allison is chairman. Mrs. Thacker will has assisted by Mrs. Jack Rosenberger and Mrs. Chester Dalzell. MRS. GEORGIA KREIGH NAMED LODGE HEAD Mr*. Georgia Kreigh was elected noble grand of Olive Rebekah ledge 86, to succeed Mrs. Evelyn Plasterer, at the meeting of the order Tuesday evening at the I. O. O. F. hall. Other officers elected for the coming year were Mrs. Nancy, Lengerich, vice-grand; Mrs. Clara Drum, recording secretary; Mis. Clara Meyers, financial secretary; and Mrs. Melbena Reed, treasurer. The remaining officers will be appointed and installation will be held January 25 when the district deputy president, Nora Glendenning of Geneva, and her installing staff will be present for the event. The annual turkey dinner and Christmas gift exchange' was held earlier in the evening.- The tables were decorated with wreaths and candles. Guests were present from Liberty Center and Bluffton lodges. “ . DECATUR ROSE GARDEN CLUB HOLDS PARTY The Decatur Rose Garden club held their Christmas party and dinner recently in the banquet room of the Kozy Korner Restaurant. The tables were decorated in keeping with the Christmas season and a lighted tree was paced in one corner of the room. Christmas carols were sung and contests were held with Mrs. Wilbur Stanley and Mrs. B. A. Dick Johnson of West Mont College in Santa Barabara, Calif.. is visiting yith his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Johnson of Decatur. Johnson will be here for about two •weeks. Mrs. John Barger and baby have been dismissed from the Wells county hospital. They reside on route 2, Decatur. Judge Hinkle of Portland has ruled that Harold Welsch was elected trustee of Wabash township in Jay county over his Democratic opponent. John Post, declaring the vote to have been 152 to 151. The board appointed to recanvass the votes held Post had been elected by four votes so was appealed. The judge threw out five absent voters ballots. At the Adams county memorial hospital: Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Scott of Hoagland are the parents of. a baby boy born Tuesday at 4 p.m., weighing eight pounds. A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Conrad of Decatur Tuesday at 8:17 p.m., weighing six pounds and one ounce. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mutschler of Decatur are the parents of a baby boy born today at 1:22 a.m., weighing seven pounds and 13 ounces. A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Bixler of Decatur today at 5:30 a.in., weighing five pounds and 13 ounces. Slate Police Report On Road Conditions Bad Weather Over Much Os Indiana INDIANAPOLIS (INS) —The state police poets reported the following road conditions today: Dunes Park: Snowing and driving is bad in Lake and Newton counties. East part of district roads slippery from overnight snow, except northern LaPorte and Porter counties, where roads are dry with no snow.' Ligonier: Moderate! snow fall in Fort Whyne area. Remainder of district normal. 4 Lafayette: Slight snow over district. Main roads slippery in spots. Some sleet in Boone county. Bridges icy. Some packed snow on U. S. 24. Peru: Light snow op main roads. Slushy. Other roads just beginning to get slick. Pendleton: Light snow fall over district. All roads wet. Northern half of district main roads becoming slick. Temperature 28. Putnamyijle: Light snow over district. Roads wet with few slick spots. Connersville: Main roads wet. Snow mixed with light rain falling over most of district.
