Jefferson's Honor Roll Is Announced The honor roll ot the Jefferson township school has been announced by Max E. Stanley, principal. To be selected for the honor roll, a student must have at least one half A’s and the remainder B‘s on his six weeks’ report card. Peter Lehman Herd Receives Awards Seven Rosettes Are Awarded To Lehman Peter B. Lehman, prominent Washington township dairy farmer, received a total of seven rosettes th|s year from the American Guernsey cattle club for the breeding of champion cattle, it was announced today. Guernseys bred at Lehman’s farm placed in the Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Indiana state fairs this year. - Valours P. Tiny, three-year-old cow raised by Lehman, won grand champion honors at the Michigan state fair, and was also best uddered cow. A two year old Guernsey cow, Signets Jewel, formerly from the Lehman herd, won first place in its class at the Minnesota state fair. Another three-year-old cow received second place honors at the Wisconsin state fair. Guernseys shown by Lehman himself won several prises at the Indiana state fair this year. A bull and a three-year-old cow each placed second, and a two-year-old cow placed third in its class at the annual event. To Attend Meeting Os Bureau Managers Mrs. Dale Death will attend a meeting of branch managers of thie license bureau at the state house in Indianapolis Tuesday and Wednesday. The local office will remain open but Mrs. Death said that the usual driver examination’s would not be given Wednesday since examiners will also attend the meeting. Positions Open At Veterans Hospital States civil service commission has announced examinations for several positions at the Veterans administration hospital, Fort Wayne. The following positions and salary are included in the announcement: utilities and maintenance supervisor, $3740 to $4490 per year; foreman of mechanics, $3435 to $4035 per year; electrician, $3200 to $3680 per year; painter, $3200 to $3680 per year; supervisory operating engineer(general), $3435 1054035 per year; and operating engineer (steam electric), $2974 to $3454 per year. No written test will be given and applicants will be rated on the basis of their experience. Furnish Stone And Gravel For Road I Adams county’s two stone comi panics. Meshberger brothers and I Karch stone company, have volun- ■ teered to furnish stone and gravel ' free for the new road which has been graded from the Adams Central < school grounds through the new 4-H fair grounds in Monroe, it was announced today. Peter B. Lehman and Henry Ascbleman stated today that the two atone companies had each agreed to give halt of the stone needed for the 45 rod-long road.
