Lions Leaders In District Meeting Five members of the Decatur Lions club attended a district meeting of local committee chairmen in Fort Wayne Wednesday night. Those attending from Decatur included Franklyn Lybarger, first vice-president; Fted Corah, second vice-president; Glenn Ellis, third vice-president; Ray Heller, chairman of the agricultural committee, and Dick Heller. Jr., chairman of the United Nations committee. Joe Brewster, president of the Berne Dions club and of the zone organization, also attended. Service club problems were discussed at length, and members* volunteered suggestions for those clubs -with A vocational guidance specialist slaked for more cooperation betweeg Lions clubs and schools in providing guidance programs'-for high school pupils. Nearly 150 representing the 72 clubs of the district, were present to hear district governor John Herrmann speak on Lionism. The meeting -was held in the recreation room of the Centlivre company.
Vesper Program At Methodist Church To Present Messiah Sunday Afternoon The senior choir of the First Methodist church will present "The Christmas Messiah” by Handel Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock Jn the church sanctuary. The program will be given under the direction of Leland Neuen, director of music of the church. Mrs. Edgar Gerber, church organist, will be the accompanist. The program includes the following numbers: "Silent Night," "Comfort Yet My People," “And the Glory of the Lord”, “Then Shall the Eyes of the Blind be Opened," "He Shall Feed His Flock,” "Come ,I’nto Him all Ye that Labor," "But Who May Abide the Day of His Coming,” "O Thou That Tellest Godo Tidings", “For Unto Us a Child Is Born.” "There Were Shepherds Abiding in the Field,” "And Lo, the Angel of the Lord Came upon Them,” “And the Angel Satd unto Them,” “And Suddenly There Was with the Angel,” “Glory to God,” "Rejojice Greatly. O Daughter of Zion”, "Why do (he Nations Rage,” “I Know that My Redeemer Liveth,” and the “Hallelujah Chorus." Mrs. Gerber will play as ah fertory "Pastoral Symphony" Sy Handel. Soloists are Mrs. Dan Tyndall, Mrs. Waiter Krick, Mrs. John Reed. Mrs. James Webb, Miss Helen Haubold, Lyman Hann, Jack Lawson and Donald Neuen. The public is invited to attend.
