MOTHERS STUDY GROUP IN RECENT MEETING The Monmouth P. T. a. Mothers Study group met at the school recently. The meeting was opened with hte mothers prayer. Roll call was answered by Uni others. Minutes of last meeting were read and accepted. Devotions were given by Mrs. George Sonner, using the 2nd Chapter of Luke and closing with a "Visit to the Spiritual Market.” Lesson for discussion was "some Get Along—Some Don’t, Why?.”

Ladles auxiliary met at the post home Monday for a business meeting. The meeting was opened in the usual manner with the president presiding. Cancer chairman, Bessie Pomerenski, asked the aid of the auxiliary to assist her in her work for the coming year. Alma Hunter read her Americanism report and Ruth Railing presented a short talk on, “Serving Your Community." Plans are underway for a civil defense picture to be shown at the post home in the near future. Hospital chairman, Glennys Martz, reported that the articles sent for the supply shelf at Cold Springs hospital had been received and were greatly appreciated. Betty Feasel announced that an essay contest will be held, sponsored by the V. F. W. I-adlea auxiliary. The contest is open to high school students. Members are asked to bring a gift to the home by December 6 which will be mailed to Indiana cottage number one at Eaton RapIds. Mich., the national home for V F W. . hihlr.-n, December 6 is the date for the annual auxiliary Christmas party. Each member is asked to bring $1 for the gift exchange. Chairman for the party is Alma Hunter and her committee is Anna Meyers, Ruth Railing, Bertha Kramer, Marjorie . Shook, and Henerita Jones. home demonstration clubs of Berne will sponsor a gala display of Christmas ideas at the Berne community auditorium November 27 from 1 o'clock to 8 o'clock. There will an evhlbit of table and mantle arrangements, door swatches, home-made tree decorations, gift suggestions for the kitchen, the sewing room, the home workshop, the garden, and from nature's own vnlimited stores, also suggestions for, novel gift wrapping. To defray the expenses involved, the ladies will aifain operate a sweet shop whicn will feature home-made goodies of all, kinds. BEALS OBSERVE 54TH ANNIVERSARY »-Mr. and Mrs. John W. Beal of North 10th street are marking their 54tb weuding anniversary today. No special party has been planned. The Beals will be Thanksgiving Day guests of their son, Lawrence, and family. They have one other son, Lloyd, of Fort Wayne, and four grandchildren. PLANS COMPLETED FOR FALL FESTIVAL Mrs. Ray McDougal and Mrs. Chester Klelnknlght have completed plans for the noon lunch and cafeteria supper which will be features' bythe Zion Lutheran ladies at their fall festival Wednesday, December - Mrs. Robert Ashbaucher, chairman of the dining room, assures the patrons that there will be plenty of dining space in the basement auditorium of the parish hall. Serving will begin at 4:30. The girls of the Walther League will assist the children with their trays. Mrs. William Oernand and her committee have arranged movies for the children beginning at 5:30 throughout ’the evening, with a different film every half hour. Assisting her will be Mrs. Bill Porter, Mrs. Leonard Morrison, and Mrs. Wilbert Steele. The public is invited to attend. CELEBRATE 62ND WEDDING ANIVERSARY ■ Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Walther
of f>3l sth street, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary Tuesday. The couple has two children, Mrs. Harry' G. Young of Decatur and Robert Walther om Hamilton, Ohio two grand-children, and six greatgrandchildren. They were honored with a dinner Sunday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walther of Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs Charles, also of Hamilton; Mrs. Elmer Ertel of Cincinnati, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry G. Young of Decatur. The ‘ Research club will meet Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs.’W. L. Linn at 2:30 o’clock. The program wil be current events. The Monroe Methodist W.S.C.S. executive comirtittee will meet Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Glen Stucky.
