Girl Touring Europe Has Battles Three Main Battles For European Tour PARIS, France, (INS) — The American career girl on a whirlwind tour of Europe has three battles to fight, on the trip —the battle of the budget, the battle of the bulge and the battle offgood grooming. All of ’em take will power to lick. The easiest .4agay budget-w’iso is to tag along on a planned group tour which takes care of your major expenses in advance. Some tours squeeze sight-seeing in eight countries into a month for under SI,OOO. including most meals and round-trip air tourist fare from New York City. The pre-arranged meals are a temptation for the diet-conscious lady. Usually the courses are more varied and bigger than a caloriecounter would permit herself at home. Ebe should learn to say "No" firmly but politely in several languages. A fast tour seldom gives a tourist, more than four days in a single place; oftener it’s only a day. Ornate Planters Making Comeback ATLANTA (INS) — The traditional, ornate planters of the antebellum South may be staging ,a comeback. The curlicued plant-containers were about dying out. because they were pure deadweight — made as they always were of cast Iron. Now a Georgia concern is turning out planters that look as heavy, but can easily be picked up and moved around. They are made of light, cast aluminum. The old iron ones rusted eventually, top, a drawback overcome by the non-rust aluminum. The planters come in two lengths. 23 and 34 inches, and on stands 14, 20 or 29 inches in height. The standard product is in white enamel, but they may ba special ordered in any color. . lickety-split around the continent. There also will be times when there isn’t any water available. To provide for this emergency, take along a jar of pads soaked with astringent to remove the grime from hands and face. Famous Wreaths An Aid To Boys' School JDecorations Help To Support School CHINO. Cal., (INS) - The fam. ous Della Robbia Christmas wreaths provide a happy holiday story from the youthful citizens of the Boys ißepublica, the selfgoverning, non - sectarian farm m hool for 'feen age boy's at Chino, California. These unique and beautiful deeonitious are made and sold nationally to help support this school for the rehabilitation of actual or potential '‘problem’’ boys. The wreaths are patterned after the 15th century ceramic imprete sions'ot the Madonna which, surrounded by garlands of fmits and flowers, were designed by the Florentine artists, Luca and Della Robbia. The wreaths are made from native California redwood foliage, fruits, cones and seed pods and sold throughout the United States. Last year a Della Robbia wreath graced the door of the White House, prompting Mamie Eisenhower to write: "It is truly a beautiful decoration, especially appealing because of the worthy cause it represents." The wreath project was begun 31 years ago at the suggestion of Mrs. Margaret Fowler, one of the first supporters of the Boys Republic. That first year, 1923, the boys made and sold four wreatha on the streets of nearby Pomona, California. Last year they sold 18.00(1; this year their goal is 25,000. (The Della Rohbla wreaths are soLL-ii’ three sizes: 15 inch, 20 inch and 30 Inch, at $6, and $9.75 respectively, from Boys Republic, Chino, California.)
