Careful locking and ordinary safety devices will discourage the amateur burglars, but a determined professional, with a little nerve and ■ lutk, frequently breaks into the best guarded homes, offices and stores. ( House Republicans > To Meet Wednesday To Select Speaker And Other Officers ' INDIANAPOLIS (INS) — With ■ the senate majority and minority party organizations completed for [' the 1955 general assembly, interest turned today to the dates of Nov. ■ 24 and Dec. 11. House Republicans will settle a ; three-way race for speaker and select other officers at the Thanks- : giving eve meeting, while the ' Democrats also face a three-way , competition for minority leader- • ship, Dec. 11. i Senate Democrats—totaling 14— will have Sen. Wares W. Martin, Jr., of Clarksville, as their minority leader during the 1955 legislature. He was named in a caucus held Sunday in Indianapolis. The choice of Martin was unanimous among the 12 Democrats present, although there had been advance speculation that Sen. Vofi A. Eichhorn, Uniondale, might be a candidate. The upper house minority also named Sen: Eugene Bainbridge, of Munster, as caucus chairman, and Sen. Leonard Conrad, Terre Haute, as caucus secretary. Absent fro mthe Democratic senatorial caucus were Senators Peter A. Beczkiewicc, South Bend, and Paul A. Bitt. Evansville. The remaining caucuses involve the lower body, in which the GOP holds a 63-37 margin. .The Republicans at their house caucus are expected to pick a speaker from among three candidates —Reps. W. O. Hughes, Fort Wayne; George S. Diener, Indianapolis, and James D. Allen, Salem. The Democrats of the house will have to decide among Walter H. Maehling. Terre Haute; James S. Hunter, East Chicago, and Jesse
