The group decided to give gib for Christmas gifts for mental health patients of Indiana, aJso they will buy toys for the church nursery. The meeting closed by repeating the ’mizpah benediction. Refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Forrest Murray, Mrs. William Feller, and Mrs. Erwin Jloldner. „MINISTETR ADDRESSES CLUB FEDERATION The Rev. R. J. Walther addressed members of tfie Adams County Federation of clubs at their recent meeting in the Presbyterian church at Decatur. ' "Hidden Among the Stuff” was the topic of Rev. Walther’s address, in which he pointed out that leaders cannot be found today because they are hidden among material things of life. He reminded that Thanksgiving is a time when all should direct thoughts away from material things and direct thinking to God. Mrs. Roy Freidly was in charge of the meeting, which also featured vocal selections by Mrs. Gladys Neuenschwander, accompanied by Mrs. Audrey Whiteburst. Hostesses for a tea which followed the meeting were Mrs. Delton J. Passwater, Mrs. William Kohls, Mrs. D. Pass water, Mrs. J. Gard, Mrs. R, Runyon, Mrs. B. Haley, MTs. George Sprague, Mrs. L. E. Archbold. Mrs. H. Lester and Mrs. G; Remy Bierly. The next meeting of the federation is scheduled for Jan. 21 at the home of Mrs. Roy Freidly. The Jdlly Housewife club will be in charge of the program. PINOCHLE CLUB HAS MEETING Members of the Pinochle club met Thursday evening at the home of Viola Dull, Wren, O„ for their Thanksgiving dinner. The lesson from "Our Presidents" was presented by Martha Mcßride,, The next meeting will be a Christmas program at the home of Flossie Brandyberry. Miss Jean Ann Potts and Mary Fawley left Friday morning for Purdue Unversity where they will visit with friends over the weekend and attend the Purdue vs Indiana football game., Mrs. Dick Heller returned to Decatur today after visiting for several days in Rensselaer with her mother, Mrs. Van R. Grant. Mrs. Dick McConnell of this city is visiting in for several days. : "'George Gillie, former congressman from the fourth district, dropped off to visit here a few minutes enroute from Fort Wayne to Columbus to attend the Ohio-Michigan ' football game. He is a graduate of Ohio State. Bluffton will open its new gym Tuesday featuring the high school ■ basketball game between the Decatur Jackets and the Bluffton ■ Tigers. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Billing of near Monroeville are observing their 73rd wedding' anniversary today.
