restore high, rigid price supports. Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey (D Minn.), says he plane to make a general statement on the firm situation in a few days. Humphrey is a rigid support man, too, especially When it comes to dairy products. But dispassionate observers frankly believe the Democrats will be hard put to bring about any major changes in the flexible support system adopted by the GOP 83rd congress. The chief reason for this belief is that there were no clear • cut decisions in the Nov- 3 congressional election* which Indicated any strong farmer sentiment one way or the other. Veteran Democratic Sen. Guy M. Gillette, a rigid support man was ditched by his lowa constituents although the farmers in his state were thought to be considerably stirred up about declining agricultural prices and to be blaming the new GOP law even though it hasn't yet taken effect.
