Eagles Defeat Adams Central By 59-57 Score The Monmouth Eagles, after piling up an 11-point advantage at the half, were hard-pressed to edge out a 59-57 victory over the Adams Central Greyhounds Saturday night on the Monmouth court. The Eagles, in scoring their second victory in as many starts, worked to a 37-26 margin at the main intermission, but the Greyhounds threatened to pull the game out of the fire in the closing minutes. Rod Beer, veteran center of the Greyhounds, took the scoring honors with 21 pbints on seven field goals and a like number of free throws. For Monmouth, Norb Witte tallied 18 points and Stew Schnepf 16. The Eagles will entertain the Lancaster Central Bobcats at Monmouth Tuesday, and will meet the Decatur Commodores at the Decatur gym Friday.
