Add Two Collections To Indiana Library BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (INS) — Librarian R. A. Miller announced today the addition of two new Hoosier collections to the Indiana University Library. The library's collection of Indiana manuscripts has had added to it, 26,000 items from the estate of Samuel M. Ralston, Hoosier Governor and U. S. Senator. Also, funds have been contributed by former Judge Ora L. Wildennuth, of Gary, former president of the University’s board of trustees, to purchase the musical compositions of Hoagy Carmichael, IU alumnus. Transport Strike Is Ended In London Strike Os Dockmen Is Still Unsettled LONDON (INS) — Thousands of foot sore Londoners got a break today as wildcat strikers on the city’s bus lines started back to work. Fifty-five of the 87 bus depots in the sprawling British capital were operating normally this morning. And the six-day walkout was expected to be ended by Wednesday. i ' But the dock workers strike in London and Liverpool, the nation’s two largest ports, continued des pite pleas by union leaders and the government. A total of 44,000 longshoremen, ship repairmen and barge operators were off their jobs. The number of idle ships in port rose to 193. Dockers at Hull and Southhampton were meeting today to decide whether or not to join the walkout. The bulk of the men on strike are members of the giant Transport and General Workers Union. They have to stay on the job by the/ union’s chief Arthur Deakin, who lhas charged the walkouts are/belnt engineered by Communists./ Labor minister Sir Walter Monckton will outline te government’s plans to deal with the strike which is a severe blow to Britain’s vital export program.
