Crops Prospectus Better Last Month Increase Slightly Despite Drought WASHINGTON (INS) — Crop reported across the nation say that farm production prospects increased slightly during September dispite drought over much of the country and acreage restrictions on a number of crops. According to a report, issued by. the agriculture department, the increase brought the estimate for this year’s total crop up to the ’ 1951 level, when America’s farmers produced their fifth largest total crop in history. During September, prospects improved for production of cotton, soybeans, sorghum grain, alfalfa hay, potatoes, and sugar beets. At the same time, prospects decreased for corn, spring wheat, oats, barley, flaxseed, rice, peanuts and
