MISS ANN BAYLOG IS BRIDE OF JOHN SCHAFFNER Miss Ann Baylog, daughter of Mrs. Ethel Baylog. 431 Hall St, Bluffton, became the bride of John F. Schaffner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schaffner of Willshire. 0.. at the First Baptist church Saturday. August 28. Mrs. John Pease of Bluffton presented the organ music for the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by Robert Bevington, was attired in a street-length aqua two-piece linen suit. She carried a white Bible topped with pink rosea And White streamers. ' / Mrs. Louis Baylog, Jr., sister of the bridegroom, served as matron of honor. She wore a pink faille princess style dress' With a fitted Jacket and a corsage of white roses. Robert D. church basement for 50 guests. The room was decorated with pink and white streamers and vases of dahlias and mums. Those serving were the Misses Sydonna Wall, Jill Horshman, Rachael Schaffner, Mrs. June Ovennyer and Mrs. Julia Wall. The bride attended Monmouth high school and was employed by Mrs. Robert Bevington, Bluffton. The bridegroom graduated from Willshire high school and served four years in the marine corps. After returning from a trip to Michigan they will reside at 431 Hall Street in Blufftop. B P W GROUP OPENS SEASON The opening meeting of the Business and Professional Women’s club took place Wednesday evening at the Moose home. The meeting began with a dinner at 6;> pjm. Miss Joan Wemhoff, district director and a member of the local club, spoke on the BPW federation. She gave the history and purpose of the federation and described its organization. Miss Rosemary Spangler took over duties as president of the club following the resignation of Miss Evelyn Frohna.pel, who is moving to Denver, Colo. Aldine Frauhiger takes over ■the post of first vice-president vacated by Miss Spangler and Irene Hicks was named second dee-pre-sident to succeed Mtss Franhlger. 'Club members last night, voted approval of a request from the Adams county chapter of the cancer society to assume the responsibility of the service and education work of the society. The local club has also decided to sponsor a Girl Scout or Brownie troop and will make plana for this project at the next meeting. A budget for the 1954-55 club year was adopted and general program plans for the year were discussed. Members were urged to attend the sectional meeting at Wabash Sept. 2d. District five, which includes Decatur, will be host for the meeting. PIANO RECITALS TO BE GIVEN SUNDAY Mrs. Elmer Ehrsam of Monroe will present her piano pupils in recitals Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock and 2:40 o’’etock in the Monroe Methodist church. The doublering ceremony was performed by the Rev., O.J. Beardsley. i The bride is the daughter of Mr. and (Mrs. Jess R. Roudebush of , Anderson, and the bridegroom is the eon of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Rice of Decatur. The organ music was presented by Davis Ramsey. The bride, who was given in inariage >by her father; wore a gown of imported pure silk organza over white taffeta styled with a hand-tucked V-neckline formed Ivy a hand of illusion lace. Her bridal bouquet was a shower arrangement of white Amazon lilies and stephanotis. Miss Sue Ann Hosier attended the bride as maid of honor, and brides-iwaids included Mrs. Joe Vargo. Mrs. Carl Alt, and Mrs. John C. McClamroch, of Galesburg 111. .Miss Hosier wore a gown of rose quartz cohama capri over taffeta. She caried a crescent cascade arangeanent of mauve Fuji mums, pompons and sunset ivy, toilage and natural wheat. The bridsmaids wore identically designed gowns of fuchsia cohama eapri over taffeta and matching head bands with veils. Th“y carried creecent bouquets of Mary Garden roses. Fuji mums and shaded mauve delphlniutp r lorets accented with Hawaiian tl leaves Cherie Lynn Roudebush, the flower girl, wore a white organdy frock with a pink sash. Her ihusband was graduated from Decatur high school and Ball State Teachers’ College. He taught at Shortridge high school before entering the army. Tie now is stationed at Fort Monmouth. NJ. The employment security division reported 60,611 unemployed during the week ending Sept. 4. Included were 7.523 initial claims and 49,433 continued claims. Lehman of Berne, route 2. " Carl Hart of Geneva was admitted to the Wells county hospital yesterday. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Holy Trinity Catholic church for Mrs. Anna C. Bonifas, 72, who died Tuesday at the Jay county hospital. Her husband, Peter BonifaS died in 1938. Mrs. Maud Merriman is in Cincinnati, 0., on business. C. T.
