Two Men Are Jailed For Bank Shortage Teller, Customer Held For Shortage ANDERSON, Ind.(lNS)Two men i are In jail today after one charged the other with forcing him to falsify bank record* and cover up a *67,000 shortage In the other's accounts. Those held are Jerald Lee Rose, 31-year-old teller of the Citizens’ Banking Company of Anderson, and J.J. Thompson, 38, operator ofa slaughter house and meat market. Rose said that when he spoke to Thompson about the shortages, the merchant threatened bodily harm to him, his 15-month-old son and his 18-year-old wife, who is expecting a second baby soon. Rose was slated by the FBI on a charge of willful misapplication of *67,000 and Thompson with aiding and abetting Rose in misapplication of funds. Thompson, who denied the statement of Rose, came to Anderson a year ago and bought the H. and H. Packing company, following bankruptcy proceedings. He slaughters animals at the rear of the building and sells meat in a market at the front. 'Rose confessed that he held back several checks for Thompson a year ago but that several days later he "got panicky" and didn’t "know what to do."
