Isch farm is located one mile west and % anlle north of the Baumgartner -(hatchery, or % mile east and % mile north of Vera Cruz. Lunch will be served during the demonstration. Neighboring farmers will construct a diversion ditch,, using .plows and discs, at this meeting. They will also renovate a permanent pasture. The purpose of a diversion ditch is to catch tfhe water which flows from -a elope into a field, and divert it to useful purposes, keeping the water from washing eoUonto valuable farinAt the conclusion of the demonstration, there will be a tour of the nearby Herman Kipfer farm, to see terraces, grass waterwaye, and a diversion ditch that has been working effectively for eight years. The tour will also visit the Luther Yager ifarm, two miles west of Berne on highway 118. Yager is now building a farm pond, under SCS guidence. He also has a fine stand of birdefoot trefoil and a number of grass waterways installed about five years ago during a similar demonstration.
