Wo.M.A. CONDUCT# ' MEETING RECENTLY ; Highlighting the recent meeting of the W.M.A, of the Nuttman Ave. U.B. church were readings by Mrs. Dague and Mrs. Ferrel. Mrs. Hague presented “A Mountain Woman Pleading for Help" and Mrs. Ferrel read the Indians' 23rd psalm and told of the Indians who traveled many miles to reach the white man’s Bible. Both ladies wore authentic costumes. The meeting got underway with Mrs. Gladys Raver, program leader, telling the history of the song. “Brighten the Corner," after which it was sung by the group. Mrs. Bess, Mrs. Thorton and Mrs. Hart read the scripture and the song, "Let The Beauty of Jesus," was sung. Prayer was then offered by Mrs. Wynn, Mrs. Auraud, Mrs. Roth and Mrs. Diehl. Mrs. Raver, assisted by Mrs. Lundin, Mrs. Garwood and Mrs. Michael, presented the lesson study, Mrs. Dague, vice-president, pre-; sided at the business session. It was announced that the neat meeting will' be held at the home of Mrs. Diehl with Mrs. Roth as leader. Mrs. Raver closed the meeting with prayer. DEMONSTRATION CLUB# PLAN PICNIC Arrangements have been made for a picnic for members of the Adame county Home Demonstration clubs Wednesday evening, Sept. 1. The event will be held at six-thirty that evening in the shelter house at Lehman parh, Berne. A pot-luck supper will start the evening followed by music, games and contests. Each member is asked to bring one covered dish, sandwiches and table service. The cofee and lemonade will be furnished and soft drinks and ice cream will be available at the park. Mr. and Mrs. William H. Cole' of Nashua and Meredith, New Hampshire. The wedding will take place Saturday afternoon, Auguat 28, at three o’clock., Miss Cole attended the University of New Hampshire and* is a member of Chi Omega sorority. A former resident of this city and son of Otto Hoile of Fort Wayne, the groom-to-be is assistant professor of zoology at the University of New Hampshire, in Durham. He is a graduate of Valparaiso University and received ■bls master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. The couple will reside in Durham, N. H. MRS. JACK RAUDENBU&H HONORED WITH SHOWER dfrs. Jack Raudenbush, of Willshire, 0.. route 1, was honored last evening with a miscellaneous bridal shower at the home of Mrs, Vernon Hirachy. Upon her arrival, the honored guest was presented with a corsage of lavendar gladioli. Games were played and prizes awarded to Mrs. Ralph Jackson, Mrs. Bill Johnson, Mrs. Don Raudenbush, Mrs. Lee Edward and Miss Ada Foor, who in turn presented them to the guest of honor. Following Che opening of the many lovely gifts, delicious refreshments were served by the hostess to:: the Mesdamee Jack Raudenbush, Ralph Jackson, Richard Young, Don Raudenbush, Bill Johnson. Bill Conner and Nola Marie, Lee Edwards and the Misses Marcile Manely, Ada and Ann Foor, and Sally McCullough. - Unable to attend but sending gifts were Mrs. (Merle Foor, Miss Grace Baltzell and Miss Marilyn Sipe. The Catholic Ladies of Columbia will hold a meeting and potluck dinner at the C.L of C. hall Tuesday evening at six-thirty o'clock. Meat and rolls will be furnished by the committee in charge. Monday evening at eight o'clock the V.F.W. Ladies auxiliary will hold a business meeting at the V.F.W. home.
