James L (Dusty) (Rhodes, a smouldering volcano at the plate through most of the Giants’ campaign,'has erupted at last and it may take days to put out the fire. Dusty joined a select circle of only 12 players Wednesday as he cracked three home runs in one game for the second time. The assault helped bui y St. Louis, 10 to 0, and pull New .York out of a depressing six-game losing streak. The last time XMMty hit three in one game, he went -to work for a streak which didn’t stop until he had homered ten times within 18 days. That was last Aug. 25. Jt was the fourth homer since the drawling Alaba ria-born power‘hitter relieved the slumping Monty Irvin in leftfield 24 hours earlier. The miscues wiped out a two-nun Pirate lead racked up when Preston Ward homered with one Burdette wap the victor. The Indians were held to five hits by Russ Kemmerer but they bunched three of them for two runs in the sixth inning. Early- Wynn, who scattered 11 hits, got his 14th win when Hobby Avila singled.
