Drops Plans For Tabling Censure Move Senate GOP Leader Knowland Welcomes Debate On Censure WASHINGTON (IN) —Senate GOP leader William F. Knowland abondoned his plans for tabling Sen. Ralph IE. Flanders’ antiMcCarthy resolution today and announced he will welcome a "fulldress debate” which may run into next week. J Knowland’s switch in plans on the censure resolution against Sen. Joseph R. (McCarthy (R Wit,) came as another Republican senator proposed a substitute move to create a committee that would study the problem of “McCarthyMm” and report to the senate next year. Knowland told the senate the "censure McCarthy” resolution, which” is due to come up Friday, and any substitutes may be debated "several days.” Later he told newsmen: "It may be Just as well to have a fulldress debate, which appears to be what the proponents of the resolution want. I have no present intention of moving to table.” A Republican move to sidetrack the anti-McCasthy resolution until after the congressional elections was made earlier today. = Sen. H. Alexander Smith (R N. J.) made public a resolution he is introducing to create a special bipartisan committee headed by Vice President Richard M.
