MR. & MRS. W. R.REIDENBACH TO OBSERVE ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. William R. Reldenbach of Convoy, 0,. route 2, will observe their 50th .wedding anniversary Sunday with open house from 2-o’clock to 5 o’clock in the afternoon and from 7 o’clock to 9 o’clock in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Reidenbach are the parents of eight children: Otto, who died in 1925; Mrs. Ora Beck. Mrs. Leia Ellenwood. William, Jr., all of Fort Wayne; Mrs, Winifred Hayherst of Columbus, O.; Mrs. Willamina Bowers, Norma Jr., and Mrs. Lucille May, all of Convoy, O. They also have 19 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. The Bobo U.B. Willing Workers class will meet with 'Mrs. John Shutt Thursday evening at seventhirty o’clock. ‘ The Onion Chapel Ladies aid. meeting, ’scheduled for this Thursday, has been postponed one week. It will take place Thursday. July--22. Family night will be held at the Eagles hall Wednesday evening at eight-thirty o’clock. The Kirkland W.C.T.U. will meet all day Thursday at Hanna-Nutt-man park. a At eight o’clock Thursday evening the 'Phoebe Bible class of the Zion Evangelical end Reformed church will meet in the church parlprs. The Church of the N azair ene Missionary meeting will be held at the church Wednesday evening at seven-thirty o'clock. Has Small Stone Removed From Heel Miss Donna Sunali, daughter of Mt. and .Mrs. Kennerth Small, ot 608 Indiana, had a small stone removed from her heel last night by a doctor in Berne. Miss Small injured her foot sliding down a slide into shallow water at Pi nA Lake, and was taken tb the doctor. Farmer Digs Big Hole After Words From Fortune Teller BERNE, Ind. (INS) — Words of a fortune teller In St. Mary’s, 0., have cost Clarence Becher, middleaged farmer, a heap of toil. The fortune teller said there Is buried treasure in woods near Berne and Becher already has dug 22 feet. The hole is eight feet square at the top and about six feet at the bottom. ■ Becher has bought a Geiger counter, which detects uranium usually. Eight Pennsylvania Coal Mines Closed Labor Dispute In State Is Spreading WAYNESBURG, Pa., ’ (INS) More than 6,500 coal miners were idled today as eight pits in western Pennsylvania shut down in a spreading. labor dispute. Latest mines hit ara U. S. Steel Corp's Ronco, Palmer and Roberia. The three, with the Robena, the world's largest mine, employ a total of 3,800 workers. Another U. S. Steel operation, the Collier mine, was reported back in operation today after a one-day shutdown. The stoppages stem from a dispute at the Nemacolin mine of Youngstown “Sheet & Tube Co., .where 80ff miners have been striking since last-Thursday in protest of the handling of seniority rights ,among 235 men furloughed last April. Besides Nemacolin and the U. S. Steel mines, other pits shut down are Crucible, of Crucible Steel Co.; Shannopln of Jones and Laughlin; Warwick, of Duquesne Light Co.. and Mather, of Lickands, Mather and Co. ’■ The shutdowns are reported in defiance of orders from the United Mine Workers, District 4.
