A song, “Ldad Me to Calvary,” was sung, followed by prayer by Berheice Gray. Mrs. Diehl read the scripture lesson and Mrs. Dague; the leader, assisted by Mrs. Bess, ; Mrs. Lundin, Mrs. Michel and Mrs. Raver, gave the lesson forJ the month, Mrs. Hart gave a report of the meeting held at Winchester church. Mrs. Raver and Mrs. Garwood were appointed on the-flower committee. Mrs. Raver was elected treasurer replacing Mrs, Qsborn, who resigned. Eleven members answered roll AiWll and seven children were present. The August meeting will be held at Mrs. Diehl’s home, with Mrs. Raver as leader of the program. MISS ERMA RABBIT HOSTESS RECENTLY The Union Township Home Demonstration club met recently with Miss Erma Rabbit. The song of the month, “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.” was sung to open the meeting and Mrs. Mae Suits led the group in prayer. Roll call was answered by 24 members. two guests and eight children. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mrs. Hugh Nldlinger and Mrs. Ivan Barkley gave reports on the recent trip to Purdue university. It was voted to have a potluck supper for the August meeting. The members are asked to invite their families as guests. The singing of the club song closed the meeting after which Mrs. Jack Gray presented the lesson, “Variations of Quick Breads.” A delicious lunch was then served bythe hostess, assisted by Mrs. Rolland Gray Grote. Sparkman said, “Americana muat not permit their heritage of freedom, opportunity and social justice to be destroyed by either Communists- or those who use the Commpnist tactics.” Sen. Malone told the convention that the American economy has been hurt “by the policy of procuring critical materials and minerals in remote and distant lands outside the western hemisphere.” 4 The next day, Mrs. Cylvia Sorkin, St; Louis economist and business consultant .opened the meeting with a self-improvement class, “Personality is Everybody’s Business” — "Yours is,. Showing Madame.” During the. business session, special committee reports were given on the Chinese nursing fund project, national security and -on the policies of--“lndependent Woman," the national magazine. Wednesday noon, Miss Wemhoff a Citizens Telephone Co. employe was a guest at a special luncheon hosted by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. of St. Louis. At 1:30 all of the copventioners left on the Missouri fun fest which included a tour of the city, box supper In Forest park, and a ticket to see “Roberta” in the St. Louis Municipal Opera theater. The 35th anniversary formal banquet was held in convention hall, of the Kiel auditorium Thursday evening at 7 o’clock? Dr. Nicholas Nyardi, chairman of the department of economics, ' Bradley university, Peoria, 111., was the principal speaker and his _ topic was: “A Free World." Final 5 business was transacted Friday and the new national officers were presented with Miss Margueite Rawalt, a Washington. D. C.. attorney, elected president and Miss Hazel Palmer, Sedalia, Mo., also gn attorney, as first vicepresident. More than 4,000 women attended the convention on the 35th anniversary of the organization. Miami Beach, Fla., won the bid for the 1956 biennial. Kathryn Goldner Wed Saturday To Richard D. Hott Altar flowers of white gladioli and asters formed, a background for the Saturday afternoon wedding of '.Miss Kathryn Ann Goldner and ! Richard D. Hott, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hott of Decatur. Palms, candelabra and wrought iron vases of white gladioli and asters completed the church, decorations. The bride is the-youngest daughter of-Mrs» Dallas B. Goldner of Decatur. The Rev. William C. Feller solemnized the double-ring ceremony in the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church at five o’clock after a musicale by Mrs. J. Fre<l Truchte. Selections were “Invocation” by Dubois, “Romance" by Rubenstein, "Calm As The Night” by Bohm and the wedding marches “Temple Prelude” by Petrali and ‘March Nuptials" by Kreckel. The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Dr. Richard Goldner, of Northville, Mich., appeared in a waltz length gown at white organdy with an all over pattern of white embroidery. The fitted bodice featured a scoop neckline, short cap sleeves and a white satin cumbenband. A pleated satin half-hat completed her ensemble and she carried a purple throated white' orchid amidst white satin streamers. The afternoon was spent quilting, piecing blocks and knotting a comforter. One quilt and a wool comforter are now ready for charity. The club members decided to donate 35 to the Fritz Lehr fund, Retreslfnients were served by Mrs. Ernest iFhlerding. Two guests were present, Mrs. Herman Bieberic.h and Miss Alyena Bohnke. Donald Hott, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and ushering were Jack Reynolds of Fort Wayne, Phillip Krick of Decatur, Robert Jones of Terre Haute and John Davis of Shadyside, O. Mrs. Goldner chose a silk costume suit in shades of blue with navy and white accessories for the occasion and the bridegroom’s mother was attired in a charcoal silk costume suil with white accessories. Both wore corsages of pink rosebuds. The church basement was the scene of the reception which followed the ceremony for approximately 1.75 guests. The tables were with lace cloth and the bride's table W'as centered with a tour-tiered wedding cake flanked with larkspur and huckleberry. •Mrs. Jack Heller, <Mrs. Enos Osterman, Miss Ann Garner, Miss Janet Hott and Miss Judy Hott served the guests. Assisting were the Meedanie.s Tillman Gehrig, Frances Andrews, Asa Bollock and Forest Owens. . ' For traveling the bride was wearing a gray suit dress accented by white accessories and a white orchid from the bridal bouquet. After they return from their wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Hott will, be at home at 416 New York, Evansville. Beth are graduates of Decatur high school. The bride also graduated from Half State Teacher's college in June as a speech and hearing therapist and will teach this fall in Evansville. Hott is a senior electronics engineering student at Evansville college and is employed at the Schoene Electronics laboratory.

Sarah Krick Is Bride Sunday In Church Ceremony In a double-ring ceremony read Sunday afternoon at four o’clock in the First Methodist church, Miss ?Sarah Krick became the bride of Gregory Andreichuk, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Andreichuk, of Martins Ferry, O. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Walter J. Krick and the late Walter J. Krick, of Decatur. XSI Rev. Samuel Emerick, assisted by the Rev. Virgil Sexton, officiated at the rites before an altar banked with vases Os yellow majestic daisies and blue delphinium. The church was further decorated with beauty vases of white gladioli and daisies and candelabra. White satin bows and lemon foliage marked the pews. Songs were “Clair De Lune,” "My Heart At Thy Sweet Voice,” “Meditation,” “Calm As The Night." "I Love Thee," "O Perfect Love," and “Wedding Prayer." “Ave Maria” was played during the reciting of the vows. Given in marriage by her uncle, Virgil Krick, the bride chose a white lace and Tulle gown. Her strapless bodice was topped with a Spencer jacket and the bouffant ballerina length skirt featured a flounce of gathered tulle. Her twotiered fingertip veil of French illusion fell from a Chantilly lace pillbox studded with seed pearls and she carried an arrangement of tyiies-of-the-valley centered with a white orchid. Youth Injured In Accident Sunday ■Marvin C. Deßolt, 18, of 340 No. Ninth St., received severe friction bums on his ( right arm, shoulder and back in an accident Sunday at about 6:30 p.m. The injured youth was riding a motorcycle when he was struck by a car driven by bis brother, Richard Deßolt, 17. The accident happened two miles east of Decatur on I’. S. highway 224. Marvin said his brother signaled to make a left hand turn and then swerved, back into themotoreyele. Damage to the motorcycle amounted to SSO and to the car, <3O. Deputy sheriff Merle Affolder, who investigated, arrested Richard on a charge of operating without a license.--He will appear in justice , of peace court Friday night.
