MRS. DELLA SCHNEPF , ‘r l ENTERTAINS TUESDAY The June meeting of the Root Township Home Demonstration club was held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Della Sehnepf.' The creed was repeated by the group to open the meeting, followed with the singing of “The More We Get Together" and “Let Me ' Call You Sweetheart," the song of the month. The lesson of quick breads was given by Mrs. Mary Merriman. Roll call was answered with “new ideas for reunion picnics” and reports on the Purdue trip were given by those who attended, Mrs. Hilda Aumann, Mrs. Berniece Magley and the president, Mrs. Della Spiegel. During the business session it was decided to hold a silent auction at\,the .July meeting. Each member is asked to bring an article Or give a cash donation. It xvas then voted to open the meetings duripj; July and August at one-thirtyWctock inMead of one o’clock. Members yere reminded that the 4-H fair will be held at Mbnroe August 3,4, and 5. MISS KATHRYN GOLDNER HONORED fUESDAY Tuesday evening Miss. Kathryn Goldner was honored with a bridal shower at the home of Miss Barbara Beehler. Assisting the hostess Miss Anne Garner. The entertaining room was decorated With roses in pink and red shades and the honored guest was presented with a pink carnation corsage upon her arrival. The group will then appear on “Here’s Charlie’’ TV program at one-thirty o'clock to help promote dairy products after which they will travel to different grocery stores to give away dairy products. RUTH AND NAOMI CIRCLE MEETS AT CHURCH Twenty-one members and eight guests attended the Wednesday afternoon meeting of the Ruth and Naomi circle of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church. , Mrs. Tony Myers, program leader for the afternoon, opened the meeting with scripture reading. She then presented a very interesting lesson, entitled "Women,'to ißemember.” A birthday anniversary party was held later. Members and guests were seated at a long table decorated with vases of roses, j Jerry Kaehr played several selections for the program and poems were read by the Mesdambs Ed Bome, Floyd Shoaf, Clara Meyers and Viola Kirchofer. ' , DELTA THETA TAU ENTERTAINE JUEBDAY Members of Delta Theta Tau sorority entertained their husbands and sweethearts Tuesday with a picnic at Hanna-Nuttman park. The committee in charge -was: Mrs. Lyle Mallonee, as chairman, Mrs. Henry Neireiter, Miss Mary Ann Laurent, Miss Shirley Mitchell, Mrs. Grant Bean, Mrs. Frank LytJSrger and Miss Dorothy Uleman. Eta Tau Sigma sorority will hold a picnic at-Hanna-Nuttman park Tuesday evening at six-thirty o’clock. In case of rain the affair will take place at the home of Mrs. Lawrence Rash. Adams unit 43 of the American Legion auxiliary will have a potluck picnic at the Hanna-Nuttman shelter house Monday ervening at six o'clock. All members are asked to bring a' covered dish and their own table service. There will be no social meeting at the Legion home Friday evening.

The Jolly Housewives Home Demonstration club will meet at the Pleasant Mills school Tuesday evening at seven-thirty o'clock. The Flo-Kan Sunshine Girls will meet at the K. of P. hotne Monday evening at six-fifteen o’clock. All girls are asked to be present as the meeting is Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur D Yockey of Boonville, N. Y., became the parents of a baby girl, Claudia June, Friday, June 18. She weighed 8 pounds and 16 ounces. Four Motorists Are Fined For Speeding Harold F. Fisher, of Fort Wayne was fined |5 and costs to justice of the peacd court fest night, and was sent to the county jail by Justice Floyd Hunter when he failed to pay the fine. Fisher was charged with driving 45 miles,, an hour in a 30 mile an hour zone. Homer Webster, of Huntington. and tßuth A. Miller, of Fort Wayne, were each fined 114.75 by Justice Hunter on charges of speeding. Webstar was arrested Wednesday by the state police on 13th street driving 45 miles an hour in a 30 mile an hour zone, Kenneth Rubier, of Versailles.
