MiSS SARAH KRICK HONORED RECENTLY Mrs. Roger Swain of Bluffton entertained recently with a beautifully appointed luncheon and persona! shower for her niece, Mias Sarah Kriok, bride-elect of July 4. Guests were seated at small tables centered with miniature slippers which held bouquets of coral bells, baby breath, cornflowers and florabunda roses. Following the luncheon, a contest was enjoyed after which the guest of honor opened many beautiful gifts. Punch was served later in the afternoon. Guests included Miss Sarah Krick. JOHNSON ELECTED PRESIDENT Mrs. (Ralph R. Johnson is the newly-elected president of the Fort Wayne district of the Methodist ministers' wives association. She is succeeding Mrs. Christian Kocher of Fort Wayne. The new secretary-treasurer is Mrs. John Sayer of New Haven. At the Thursday meeting held at Welgs county state park it was decided that November 1 and 2 will be the dates for the special ministers' wives retreat at Pokagon state park. The program for the retreat will be under the direction of Mrs. A. Wesley Pugh of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Thurman Morris of Warsaw, Mrs. Kocher and Mrs. Johnson. MISS SUZANNE LEBRUN WEDS SUNDAY AFTERNOON Miss Suzanne Leßrun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don E. Leßrun of South Whitley and formerly of Decatur, became the bride of Thomas C. Cook in a double-ring ceremony at two-thirty o'clock Sunday afternoon. Parents of the bridegroom are MY. and Mrs. H. B. Cook of Gary. The nuptial vows were read in the South Whitley Methodist church with the 'Rev. E. J. Arthur, pastor of the Calvary Methodist church in Elkhart, officiating. A//ss Davidson Wed Sunday To Vernon Thieme The marriage of Miss Marilyn Dorcas Davidson and Vernon O. Thieme was solemnized Sunday afternoon at two o’clock in the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Davidson of Decatur and parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. (Richard Thieme of Decatur, route 5. , The double-ring ceremony was read by the Rev. John E. Chambers before an altar adorned with white and pastel shades of asters and gladioli, palms and candelabra. White satin bows and green foliage marked the pews. A fifteen-minute musicale was presented preceding the ceremony. Mrs. Evangeline Embler played “The Bells of St. Mary’s,” “Liehestraum,” “Intercession,” and “Wedding Prayer.” Richard Reidenbach, vocalist, sang “Because,” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” The "Lord’s Prayer” was sung during the reading of the nuptial vows. . . , The bride was lovely in a gown of nylon embroidered organdy-over-white bridal satin. The bodice which featured a draped section of nylon tulle ending in tiny sleeves, was enhanced with a pointed wdistline Her skirt .yas' floor length and her only jewelry was a three-strand pearl choker and tiny pearl earrings. Her fingertip veil of imported French illusion was caught to <a coronet, etched with rhinestone centered daisies and she carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid and ribbon streamers, tied in lover’s knots. Miss, Colleen Lobsiger, friend of the bride, was the only attendant. She Chose a gown of baby blue eyelet embroidered organdy-over-taffeta. The bodice was fashioned with a low scalloped neckline and tiny puff sleeves and her veryfull skirt was also floor-length. She wore matching mitts and a matching Victorian half-hat, which held a shoulder length veil of nylon tulle. The 60-acre farm and •personal property of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Griffith, one mile east of Monroeville, was sold at public auction last Saturday. The farm was sold to Delmar Troyer for $342 an acre. Two-Year-Old Boy Swallows Poison Wayne E. Friedt, two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Friedt, had a narrow escape from serious illness last Friday when -he swallowed a portion of ant poison, containing arsenic.
