Samuel Emerick, pastor of the First Methodist church, will serve as assembly dean of the summer religious activities program at Epworth Forest, Lake Webster during June. A youth-adult conference will be held June 5. On June 12 a weeklong conference of the Methodist student movement will bring delegates from several states. Beginning June 27, a six week summer program will get underway, bringing 3,000 young people to the campus. .j Procession Sunday For Holy Communion Members of the fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus practiced last night at the K. of C. hall for a procession Sunday morning preceding the mass when 51 children will receive their first Holy Communion in new St. Mary's Catholic church. In formal attire, the members will be an honor guard in the procession from the ‘Catholic school to the church. The Very (Rev. Msgr. J. J. Seimetz, pastor, will be celebrant of the 7:3o,o’clock high mass. Youth For Christ To Observe Anniversary County-wide Youth for Christ will celebrate its ninth anniversary with three rallies during May. The first rally will be held at 8 p.m. next Monday at the First Mennonite church in Berne. Jan Visser, a young man from Holland, will be the speaker. During the war he was a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp for four months. He is now in the states preparing for full-time Christian service. 4-H Junior Leaders Plan 1954 Program Meet Wednesday To Outline Program Adams county 4-H junior leader officers and extension agents met Wednesday evening at the county extension office to make plans for their 1954 program. The program outlined and the meetings scheduled include: May 10—state trooper to speak On "highway safety” and a magician to furnish a special feature. June 14—lawn and folk game party with flag demonstration by 1954 star campers, Audrey Kuhn, Roger Koeneman. Cynthia I-ehman and Dee Myron Byerly, 4-H Round-up report by junior leaders receiving the trip to Purdue (Round-up and a watermelon feast; July 12 — swimming party at Pine Lake with song fest, pop corn pop, report of 4-H junior leader training-confer-ence and plans for the 4-H shoW; Aug. 9—meeting with panel and group discussion on "Etiquette Do's and Don'ts” and preparing 4-11 records for state contests; Sept. 13 —hayride and weiner bak® and turn in 4-H junior leader record books; Nov. 8 — achievement banquet and awarding of pins and awards. Special activities include a state fair trip Sept.-4, trip to Turkey Run state park Oct. 9 and a tentative tobaggon party at Pokagon state park. — To be eligible for junior leader pins and awards, members must attend four of the regular county meetings, attend % of their local club meetings, assist the local leaders and complete and turn in the 4-H junior leader record book. Berne Graduation Speakers Announced Speakers for the Berne-French high school baccalaureate and commencement exercises have been announced by E. M. Webb, superintendent of schools. The commencement address on May 21 will be given by Hugh Maxwell Walters of Connersville, a former school teacher, civic and educational leader. The baccalaureate address will be given by the Rev.
