MISS GEORGIA LAURENT MARRIED THIS MORNING Miss Georgia Laurent and Robert E. Doyle, Jr., were united in marriage this morning at nine o'clock in St. Paul’s Catholic church at Fort Wayne. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Laurent, "03 N. Fifth street. Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Doyle of East Stroudsburg, Pa., are the parents of the bridegroom. The Very Rev. Msgr. John F. Nadolny, pastor of St. Paul’s church, read the nuptial ceremony and mass. Miss Marlene Laurent, sister of the bride, ,and Richard Doyle of Baltimore, Md., uncle o( the bridegroom, attended the couple. For her informal wedding the Jwide chose a navy blue and white linen dress styled with princess lines. She wore navy and white accessories and carried a white bridal bouquet. ~ Her maid of honor was attired in a gray linen dress with white trim and navy and white accessories. Her corsage was of yellow roses. Mrs. Laurent attended in a light blue suit and the bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue ensemble. Both had pink floral corsages. The Fairway restaurant in Decatur was the scene of the wedding breakfast. The bridal couple will be honored this afternoon at the home of the bride’s parents. Out of town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Robert .Doyle Sr. and Miss Sheila Doyle of East Stroudsburg, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Doyle and Mrs. Marie Hawes of Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Mary O’Dea of Brooklyn, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Al Laurent and son of Marion, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Giant of Maples. EMBLEM CLUB TO SPONSOR GIRL SCOUT TROOP The Decatur Emblem club voted to sponsor a Girl Scout troop at a meeting Thursday night in the Elks home. Also featured was the nomination and election of officers and an inspection of the chapter. Those named to office are Mrs.

Plans were made for the mother’s day party which will take place May 13 at the Elks home. Reservations for this event will be accepted until a week before the party. Also discussed were plans for the installation of the new officers which will be featured at the May meeting. Oran Schultz, exalted ruler of the Elks club, thanked the Emblem club for help during the Elks spring' conference which was held here. Entertainment during the social hour which followed the business session honored three members of the club who were married recently. They are Mrs. Peggy Anderson, Mrs. Faye Baker and Mrs. Mabie Murray. Door prizes were won by Mrs. Baker and Mrs: Melvina Eady. The entertainment committee with Mrs. Florence O’Shaughnessey as chairman included Miss Esther Myers, Mrs. Kathryn Macklin, Mrs. Betty Yost, Miss Florence Holthouse, Miss Janice Reisher ' and Mrs. Dolores Raudenbush. The group planned to conduct a registration table in the foyer of the Decatur high school gym from 10 a m. until the evening program, May 1. They will be in charge of | directions to visitors, and general information about the club’s educational program. The committee is composed of Mrs. Clifford Mann, Mrs. Dale Moses. Mrs. Harold Augsburger, Mrs. Minnie Teeple, and Mrs. Dortha Shady. They have worked out a schedule and are asking Mrs. Chalmer Barkley, Mrs. Gerald Durkin, Mrs. Everett Rice and Mrs. Clarence McKean to assist them. She also announced the summer short course for girls under 25 years of age at Purdue. The remainder of the Evening was turned over to the program chairman, Mrs. Albert Beineke, of the Kirkland Demonstration club, who presented an interesting program. Finishing Touches At New St. Mary's Church Next Week Finishing touches and clean-up work for the newly built church of St. Mary's Catholic parish begin next week in preparation for the ; first service which will be the First Holy Communion event May 2 for 51 pupils of the second grade at St. Joseph’s grade school. Women of the Rosary society and several men of the parish will volunteer' their services Wednesday for the cleaning. The church will be used daily after May 2. Positive date of the dedication has not yet been determined, according to the Very Rev. Msgr. J. J. Seimetz. pastor of the church. He said that it will probably be held the last of May. sociation will hold a one o'clock luncheon meeting at the church Thursday afternoon. The Kirkland Ladies club will meet at the Adams Central high ; school Tuesday evening at seven-' thirty o'clock. Wednesday afternoon at two d'clock the Ruth and Naomi circle of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church will meet in the church social room. The Church Mothers Study club will meet , Tuesday evening at eight o’clock with Mrs. Winston Rawley as hostess. Election of officers will be conducted. The Order of Rainbow for Girls will meet at the Methodist church Sunday morning at ten-fifteen o’clock. The group will then attend the service in a body. The Women of the Moose will hold an informal initiation Thursday ’evening at eight o'clock at the Moose home.
