One Woman Dies In Crash Near Auburn AUBURN. Ind., UP — Lucy E. Hagwood. 38. 2922 Trumbull, Detroit, was killed and two other Detroiters were injured today when their auto ztnazhed into a guard rail on icy ’ ,J. 427 near here. State police said aeven-yearold Larry W. Hagwood, same address, and Lorine M. Hagwood, 23, 3383 17th St. were hurt. AH three were thrown onto the pavement after their car went off the road to avoid a collision with two stalled semi-trailers. Pedestrian Killed When Hit By Truck SOUTH BEND, Ind.. L’P — Ignatius Schmidt, 76, South Bend, died late Monday of injuries received hours earlier when he was struck by a truck at a snow-slick-ed city intersection. Authorities said Eugene Van Wanzeele, 48, South Betid, the drivar, was making a left turn at the slippery downtown crossing and Was unable to stop in time to avoid the accident.
