RUTH ANO NAOMI CIRCLE MEET AT CHURCH Seventeen members of Ui» Ruth and Naomi circle of the Zioij.Evangelical and Reformed tended a meeting in the social room of the church Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Harry Frauhiger, chairman, was in charge of the meeting. After silent prayer and Bible reading, Mrs. Charles Beineke, leader for the afternoon, spoke on “Your Church at Church." Plans were made to sponsor a bake sale and chicken noodle soup sale March 27. Prior to the serving of refresh* ments by Mrs. Jennie Gehrig and Mrs. John Beineke, a social hour was enjoyed by the ladies. Mrs. Harold Glazner was /in charge of the program which followed. It included two readings by Miss Janet Everhart, and a very amusing book review, “Life Among the Savages” by Mrs. Lowell Smith. A song contest was won by Lowell Smith and Robert Strickler. The clever table decorations were arranged by Mrs. Ralph Habegger and Mrs. Rolland Ladd. Hostesses were Mrs. Everett Hutker, Mrs. Niland Oschenrider. Mrs. John Beery, Mrs. Wayne Collier, and Mrs. LaDoyt Miller. » D. A, V. AUXILIARY MEETS AT HALL The D. A. V. auxiliary enjoyed a .social evening at the hall Thursday evening. A theme of Americanism was carried out. Games were played and prizes awarded to Betty Tinkham, Martha Sommers, Violet Smith, and Gladys Arnold. A delicious lunch followedThe next meeting will be a combined business and social meeting March 25. The auxiliary will have a party at the Veterans hospital in Fort Wayne March 11. MRS. ■Will. MISS JEAN L. FUELLING, daughter of Mrs. Ida H. Fuelling and the late Rudolph Fuelling, Decatur, will exchange wedding vows with Robert C. Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Thomp'son, Fort Wayne, route 10. The wedding will take place Sunday evening, April 25, in the St. Peter Lutheran church with the Rev. F. W. Droegemueller officiating. Miss Fuelling is a graduate of Monmouth high school and a member of the local chapter of Delta Theta Tau sorority. She is employed at the Sutton Jewelry store. PYTHIAN NEEDLE CLUB MEETS MONDAY The Pythian Needle club met Monday evening. Games were played and prizes awarded to the winners. Mrs. Asa Pollock received the door prize. A lovely lunch was served by Mrs. Bob Girod, Mrs. Lawrence Roop, and Mrs. Homer Lower. GROUP MEETS AT - PREBLE TUESDAY Tuesday, a meeting of the Sunny Circle Home Demonstration club was conducted at the Preble recreation hall. The meeting w ; as opened by the president, Mrs. Pearl Goldner, after which the group repeated the club creed. "Happy Birthday” was sung to members whose .birthdays occur this month. MrA Garnetta Barkley gave the devotions and Mrs. Beulah Christman told the history of the song of the month, the group then sang the song. The lesson, ‘ Herb Cookery,” was presented by Mrs. Irene Fenner and Mrs. Irene Btiuck. During the business session, roll call was answered with a hint of courtesy. The secretary, treasurer, and sunshine committee's reports were given at this time. The club decided to donate |5 to the heart

Egypt Government Warns Population Severe Measures To Halt Disturbances CANIO, Egypt, UP - - Egypt’s new "We not 1" government warned the population today it suppress any disturbances with severity. The revolutionary council issued the warning to safeguard security, although there have been no demonstrations since Mohammed ’Naguib's one-man rule came to an end Thursday. Al Gomhouria, army newspaper, said the council governing Egypt collectively on a “We Not I’’ basis was watching international reaction to Naguib's resignation as president and premier. Cairo's morning newspapers reported that orders had been given to arrest Mahmoud . Labib, secretary, of the Cairo shooting club and Naguib's brother-in-law, but these reports lacked official confirmation. The newspapers also said arrest orders had been issued for Abdul Ariz El Keisy, an employe of the ministry of national defense, and Dr. Salah Fawzi, a retired army colonel. _ Naguib remained confined in his villa in suburban Cairo, where a guard has been posted to prevent him from leaving the premises. The council did not expect to win immediate world-wide approval of its ouster of Naguib who, in the past 21 months, had been given a build-up as a strong man. Yet the council felt reassured by the U. Four-Month-Old Girl Dies This Morning Joyce Ann Myers, four-month-old daughter Qf Mr. and Mrs. Donald Myers' of east of BOrne, died at 7:15 o’clock this morning at the Adatnsi county memorial hospital following a two-day illness of bronchial pneumonia. Surviving in addition to the parents are a brother, Stanley, and two sisters. Janice and Linda, both at home, and the paternal grandparents. Mr, and Mrs. 'Frank Myers of Berne route 2. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Bethel Brethren church the Rev. Ord Gehman officiating. Burial will be in the Willard cemetery. The body will be removed from the Yager funeral home to the residence, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Sunday, •<
