TRAINING SCHOOL IS HELD FOR OFFICERS Seventy-eight officers of Adams, county’s home demonstration clubs recently attended a training school in Geneva. The group represented sixteen of the 17 local c|nb units. After opening mixers, songs and Introductions, classes were held for the various officers. Miss Martha Cullop, home demonstration agent leader fromPur due, taught the class for presidents and vice 'presidents;-' Mrs. M. J. Neuenschwander, director of the Adams county home demonstration chorus gave the song leaders of the clubs help in making the songs of the month an enjoyable feature of each meeting for 1954. ' The news reporters were instructed by L. E. Archbold, county agent,-who emphasized the Importance of extending the program through publicity. r-— - Secretaries and treasurers weird in a class conducted by Gloria Koeneinan bt the extension office. They studied the club score sheets and the new' secretary’s books. Anna K. Williams, home demonstration agent, conducted the session for lesson leaders. At noon the Geneva school cooks served lunch to the whole group in the school dining room. WOMEN OF MOOSE MEET RECENTLY The Women t of the Moose met recently at the Mouse home for a I business meeting. Regular reports i 'were given and it was announced that the Moose sponsored Girl Scout group sent a gift box to Mooseheart. The child care chairman will be in charge of the next ■ meeting. ■ ■ Initiation was held December Iff With the socfiil service chairman , in charge. Special entertainment was given by Marjorie Goelz. After the meeting a social hour was enjoyed. Della Scherry re- > chived the door prize. The next meeting will be a formal initiation Thursday evening. Officers are to be present at seventhirty o’clock and members at eight o’clock. i VALPO GUILD WILL OBSERVE ANNIVERSARY The fifth anniversary of the Decatur circuit chapter of the Valparaiso • University guild will be observed with a tea Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church. Flatrock. Mrs. W. C. Vetter will read devotions. Mrs. Willard Fawbush, president will conduct a short business meeting at which time plans for the Valparaiso University choir concert scheduled for Monday, January 25. at the Decatur high school, will be discussed. Cub scouts will meet with Tom my Maddox after school Tuesday. Girl Scout troops 3 and 4 will conduct a meeting at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon after school. The W. S. (J. The Everready class of the Methodist church will postpone their meeting until next week due to Spiritual Emphasis week. The Woman’s Society of Christian service of the Monroe Metho dist church will meet in the church annex Thursday evening, with Mrs. Margaret Lobsiger as lesson leader. ' Thursday afternoon at one o’clock the Pleasant Mills Missionary,society will convene with Mrs. Iris Harkless.
