'1950, level. \ The decline in food prices reflected a sharp 7 ; percent fall in pork, including an 11 percent fall in bacon prices, and declines of about 2V6 percent in beef and veal prices. \ / The combined average prices of meats, poultry, and fish showed the sharpest monthly decline —3.7; percent since Feb. 1949. There is some indication food prices may have strengthened a IjtUe in this month, however, so that the overall cost of' living index for December may show little or no decline from November.
