SORORITY CONDUCTS JOINT MEETING Delta Lambda and Xi Alpha Xi chapters of Beta Sigma Phi sorority were entertained Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Clarence Ziner. Mrs. Nina Miller was assistant hostess. ‘ . The meeting was opened by all repeating the opening ritual. A shqrt business meeting was then conducted by Mrs. Janies Kane and Mrs. Itobert Lane, presidents of each chapter. Delicious refreshments were then served, and the social hour was enjoyed with the playing of canasta. Mrs. Frances Ellsworth; assisted by Donna Vee Snyder, Lucille Stuckey, and Lulu Fruchte, will be hostess December 8 at eight o’clock for a Christmas party. The president opened the meeting by reading the creed,\after which a short business session was held, and a very interesting

lesson was given on “Better Breakfasts” by Miss Anna K. Williams. The door prize was won by Mrs. Earl Martin. Later, delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses. The Ladies; Shakespeare club will convene Wednesday afternoon at two-thirty o'clock at the home of Mrs. Jessie Rice. Members are to note the change'in the meeting place. Ziner will leave Christmas day for San \ Diego. Calif., where they will visit with their son, Eugene Ziner, an airman in the U. S. navy. They also will visit relatives in San Francisco and will attend the Rose Bowl game on New Year’s Day. If time permits they will go to Mexico and return home byway of Tucsop. Ariz., by. Jan. 25. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Jensen and daughters, Pat, Kriss, Debby, and Pam, spent Thanksgiving witn Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Bittner, Decatur. Jensen returned to Chicago. 111. Thursday evening, and Mrs. Jensen and daughters will visit until Monday. , Dr. and Mrs. H. R. Frey will leave by plane from Fort Wayne Saturday night for a trip to the west cpast. They will take,a plane in Chicago for San Francisco, arriving there Sunday. They will be gone two weeks and will visit •several west coast cities, returning here Dec. 11. Mrs. Carrie Egley of Yakima, Wash., is a guest of Mr. and Mrs. James Michaels. Mrs. Egley, the former Carrie Hedington, left Ad ams county 61 years ago. Mrs. Miles Jones and children. Jack. Jane, and Jennifer, have returned to their home on, route 3 after spending the past three weeks visiting friends on Long Island. Miss Claudia Ann Bultemeier, six weeks old daughter of Mrs Francilte Bultemeier, underwent major surgery at the Lutheran hospital in Fort Wayne Wednesday. Hiram Witwer, of Monroe, who recently underwent surgery, has been dismissed frqm the clinic hospital at Bluffton. | James Yoder of Linn Grove has I been cited to appear in city court at Bluffton tomorrow to answer a I charge of speeding. He filed a i $15.75 bond. Loren Affolder, a corporal in the marines, has completed two years of service and is returning to civilian life from Cherry' Point. Three Arrested In $681,700 Robbery More Arrests Are Promised By FBI BOSTON. Mass., UP — FBI agents today promised new arrests In the $681,70(1 Danvers armored car robbery. ' At two persons still at large were believed* involved in %he spectacular robbery, which occurred 20 months ago while three guards sipped coffee in a drugstore. George D. O’Brien. 43, his son, George D. Jr., and his wife were arrested Wednesday. The elder O’Brien was charged with a federal robbery offense. His son and wife were charged with receiving stolen property. O’Brien’s bail Was set at SIOO,OOO, his son’s a.t $5,000 and his wife’s at SI,OOO. Mrs. O’Brien was Teleased, however, to care for the. couple’s younger children, Thomas, 7, and John. 5. O'Brien, an ex-convict who Was posing as a construction company executive at the time of his arrest, was to be faced by two of the Iwmored truck guards, possibly to- ; day. Another report said an eye- ; witness to the crime was being , brought to Boston to try and ideni tity the dapper ex-convict. Most of the announced evidence against O’Brien centered on his sudden transformation frqm the resident of a walkup tenement house flat to a suburban squire. The younger O’Brien was attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was looked upon as the brilliant son of a wealthy executive.
