MRS. LEONARD BAYLORS TELLS OF EUROPEAN TOUR Highlights of a two month European tour were jfiven by Mis. Leonard Saylors of Fort a talk before the Decatur Woman’s club and guests Monday evening in Library halt. i \ The former Decatur lady toured several countries last summer and was in London during the coronation of Queen Elizabeth 11. She told of this historic ceremony and gave a colorful description of the decorations and ceremonies disi played during coronation week. •• .Mrs. Saylors toured England, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland and western Germany. She described the most Interesting places in those countries, jg" The program was presented by the Literature department? Mrs. Saylors was presented by N|rs. George Buckley, committee charman. The meeting was the first general meeting of the year. The club voted |IOO for the restoration of Independence Hall, a project sponsored by the General Federation of Women’s clubs. The club also voted to sponsor a towel project this year. The next general meeting of the club will be; the Christmas party December 14 at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church, \ with the Music department in charge. BUILDERS* CItASS ENJOYS TURKEY SUPPER Th® Builders' class of the Trinity church met at the church Friday evening for their annual Thanksgiving turkey supper. A short business session was held with the president, Clifford Hoverman in charge. It was decided that each family will give a dollar for the Otterbein home offering rather than sponsoring a Christmas gift exchange. A motion was then made to show a film at the December meeting and to extend an invitation to all members of the church to attend. Committees in charge of the sup* per were the following: food; Mrs. Chalmer Barkley, Mrs. Herald Hitchcockr~and Mrs. Vernon Hill, and table: Mrs. Don Cochran and Mrs. Clarence Morgan. ADAMS CENTRAL P.T.A. CONVENES MONDAY The November meeting of \ the Adams Central P. T. A. was held Monday evening at the gymnasium In Kirkland township. The meeting opened with the group singing “Faith of.X>ur Fathers” led by Bob Ray, and the Rev. Settlege gave the devptions. President Martin Steiner was in charge of the business session. Later, (Paul Ripley rendered a piano solo after which the film “All People’s Church” was presented. Judge. Parrish spoke on the grave problem of juvenile delinquency. The hospitality committee served delicious refreshments. The December 21 meeting will be conducted witlr the grade schooj children taking part in a musical program. • FEDERATED CLUBS TO HOLD TEA FRIDAY The Adams County Federated clubs will hold their annual fine arts tea Friday afternoon at the American Legion home at two o’clock. Robert Sprunger, a Purdue student who recently returned from abroad, will tell about his many experiences? and Mrs. Martin Neuenschwander will direct the Adams county home demonstration chorus in several numbers. Each member of the following groups belongs to this federation: S. and E., Farm Bureau, Root township home economics club, Adams county chorus, Decatur Woman’s club, Shakespeare club, Decatur -Garden iclub, Rose Garden club, Decatur home economics club, Friendship Village home economics club, Joly Housewives home economics club. Themqmbers are urged to bring a guest. SUSAN MAYCLIN OBSERVES TENTH BIRTHDAY Mrs. J. Clark Mayclln recently gave a party for her daughter, Susan, in honor of her tenth birthday.

After games were enjoyed, the guest-of-honpr received many lovely gifts. Alyce Lankenau was also presented with a gift in honor of her birthday which falls on the same day as that of Mijss Mayplin. Later, refreshments were served with each guest receiving as a favor a small pearl necklace. Attnding were Linda Aeschliman, Alyce Lankenau, Pamela Geimer, Sue Strickler, Marian Caston, Margaret Azbell, Judy Burk, and the Mesdames Edyth Lankenau, Kristine Mutschler, and Robert Mutschler. GROUP CONDUCTS MEETING AT C. L. OF C. HALL The Business and Professional Women met recently at the C. L. of C? hall for their regular monthly dinner meeting. The program was presented by the education and vocation committees with Matilda Seliemeyer as chairman and Mrs. Robert Mills as co-chairman. Under the direction of Mrs. Mills, three of her pupils gave a program after which Mrs. Mills reviewed the book “How to Live with Yourself” by Dr, Murray Banks, a noted psychologist. Mrs. Robert Lane then conducted the business meeting. \ . HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUB MEETS The Profit and Pleasure Home Demonstration club met recently at the home of Mrs. Boyd Stepler. The meeting was opened with the group singing “A Prayer of Thanksgiving” followed by the repeating of the creed in unison. Mrs. Tom Johnston gave the devotions, and roll call was answered with “Some Shut-In to Remember at Christmas Time.” The business was conducted by the president, Mrs. Charles Schepp, who also gave a very interesting account on the president's council in Fort Wayne. Names were exchanged for Christmas gifts, and plans made for the club’s annual potluck dinner. Get well cards were then signed'By all present for Mrs. Leonard Schwaller and Mrs. Alton Carson, two of th£ members who are ill. Miss Anna K. Williams presented the lesson on centerpieces. She showed pictures, and also gave a demonstration using various articles to produce lovely centerpieces. The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Kenneth Hoffman, served refresh ments in keeping with the Thanksgiving season. There were 23 members and eight guests present. Eureka temple of Pythian Sisters will observe roll call night Monday with a carry-in supper at the K. of P- home at six o’clock. All members and their families of the Pythian Sisters and of the Knights of Pythias are invited to attend. Each person is to bring his own table service. She weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lehman, city, becaffle the parents of a 6 pound, 8 ounce baby daughter at 12:38 p.m. today. Karen Sue is the name of the five pound, eight ana one-half ounce girl baby born to Mr. and Mrs.\Barney Brooks at the Lutheran hosplltal. Fort Wayne, last Friday. Mrs. Brooks and daughter plan to come home tomorrow.
