Fifteen members were served refreshments at the church annex by those in charge: Barbara Steiner, Mary Jane Rice, Jim Steiner, and Tom Hoffman. The next party is being planned for November 18 at eightfifteen o’clock in the annex of the church. Those appearing on the attendance honor roll are Ned . Stucky, Carl Bluhm, Tom Hoffman, Jim fifteiner, Dick Rowdon, Carolyn Mitchell, Doris Bluhm, Barbara Steiner, Nancy Shoaf, Mary Jane Rice and Mae Christener. Held For Slaying Os Wealthy Husband Wife, Negro Jazz Musician Are Held .SEATTLE. Wash. UP — A willowy blonde and a Negro jazz musician were held today on federal 7 warrants charging them with slaying the blonde’s millionaire husband in Fairbanks,.Alaska. Mrs. Diane Wells, 31, was arraigned on, first degree murder charges a few hours after she arrivedt here from Fairbanks, with her 4-year-old sonMarquam. The musician, Johnny Warren, 33, was in jail in Oakland, Calif., awaiting a removal hearing Tuesday. He denied knowing anything about the slaying. The dead millionaire was Cecil Wells, 51, Fafrbanks auto dealer and president of the All-Alaskan Chamber of Commerce. He was found dead in his luxurious Fairbanks apartment Oct. 17. A .380 caliber bullet had been fired through his head. Fairbanks police Mrs. Wells and Warren bad beedme friendly since they met last Labor Day at a dance. At the time, Warren was employed as a drummer with the dance orchestra at the Fairbanks Golf and Country Club. Oakland police quoted Warren as saying he “knew Mrs. Wells vepwell.” “But he claimed it was a coincidence that he had.. planned to leave Fairbanks the day Wflls was killed,” inspector James Mangini said. Police were called to the Wells apartment early in the morning of Oct. 17 after Mrs. Wells, badly beaten and semi - conscious, crawled from the apartment to that of a neighbor.
