Yellow Jackets Blanked By Fort Wayne Central In Final Grid Contest
Fort Wayne Central's Tigers displayed far too much manpower for the Decatur Yellow Jackets Friday night, the Tigers blanking the Jackets, 39-0, at Fort. Wayne, In the final game of the season for the Decatur eleven. : Central put together a 70-yard sustained march for a touchdown from the opening kickoff, with Roy scoring on a oneyard quarterback sneak. Central' counted another touchdown In the first period following Interception of a Decatur pass*, and chalked, up three more TD’s in the second quarter,-all coming on long .The final’ Fort Wayne touchdown came in the fourth period On a forw-ard pass play in the closing seconds of the game. Decatur made only one serious threat to score, advancing to the Central 11-yard line early in the final period, but the drive was halted by a pass interception. Fla., Mathhew Green, was scheduled to face disorderly conduct charges in justice of the peace court this morning. Green is alleged to have been drunk and disorderly downtown last night and to have resisted the attempts of a policeman to book him at the county jail. Bad Luck Stalks City Police Car Bad luck continues to stalk Decatur’s police car. It was out of commission until 11 o’clock this morning due to a damaged throw-out bearing, part of the clutch. Police think the part is a result of the accident this week whpn the car was struck as it stood parked at the curb and damage was estimated at $350. Allots Funds For Purdue Building INDIANAPOLIS UP -- Allotments totalling about $1,800,000 were earmarked today for construction and repair at state institutions, including $1,600,000 for an addition to the Purdue University chemistry building..

Auto Badly Damaged By Halloween Prank An accident attributed to Halloween pnpksters at }:3O o’clock thia morning caused heavy damage to an Adams county youth’s car and nearly cost hipi his life. Sheriff Bob Shraluka, who investigated, said a car driven by Don Duane Gallmeyer, 16, of route 1, headed west on a county road one and one-half' miles west of the Fuelling church in Root township, went out of control when Don suddenly came on a barricade made of fence rails, went through a ditch and into woods where the car struck three trees. The. sheriff said heavy damage was done to the front end. the frame and the side, estimated at SSOO. Don, who was returning home, was unhurt. The accident is believed to be one of the worst examples of mischief so far this year.
