AUXILIARY JUNIORS MARK ANNIVERSARY Members .of the American Legion auxiliary of post. 43 met Monday night to celebrate tenth anniversary of their founding. A decade ago the junjor group was reorganized into the. auxiliary under its first leader, Mirs. Dallas Brown, who was honored Monday as special guest and presented with cOrsages and gifts from the girls. ■ A supper was served on tables decorated with the blue and yellow Legion colors. Another special guest was Mrs. T. C. Smith, who is president of the fourth district auxiliary, and the present local \leader, Mrs. Ed Bauer, presided. After the dinner a number of games were played and prizes awarded. Present were 35 and nine senior members of the auxiliary. Hostesses were: Mrs. V. J. Bormann. Mrs. Wayne Frauhiger. Mrs. William Gass, Mrs. Francis Monohan and Mrs. Rose Miller. LOCAL SOCIETY BEGINS FALL SESSION Wednesday afternoon the St. Vincent de Paul society conducted the first meeting of their fall activities at the C. L. of C. hall. The meeting opened witn the society’s prayer to St. Vincent de Paul. The president, Mrs. Frances Monahan, presided over the business sessio*h. Since there were no meetings during the summer months, reports were read concerning the transactions during. June, July, and August. Mrs. Adalaide Wagner was in charge of the social program; her assistants were Mrs. William Lose Sr., Mrs. Robert Miller, Mrs. William Lose, Mrs. James Murphy, Sr., Miss Blanche Ervin, Miss Ann Gijiley, Mrs. John Moore, and Mrs. William Klepper. BEREAN CLASS OF BAPTIST CHURCH PLANS PARTY The Berean olass of the First Baptist church met Tuesday eveningl at the home of Mrs. Frank Young for a short business meeting. He is a vocational teacher in the Detroit public schools and formerly lived here. He graduated from Decatur high school and when a boy delivered the Daily! Democrat in the west part of the city. \
