It was decided that the year’s study . course would concern the work of Methodist women all over the world as ambassadors ’of Christ. Members of the circle will assist with tlie W. S. C. S. cafeteria supper in the church basement Saturday evening. The circle will sponsor the home made candy booth at the church bazaar to be\held at the church on November -19. Orders were taken for Christmas cards and wrappings, the proceeds to go to the general fund of the W. S. C. S. . Mrs. Nathan Nelson gave the lesson and conducted the devotionals. Refreshments Were \ served during the social hour. ( • The next meeting will be held October 15 with Mrs. Delmas Feas el, Mrs. Alfred Beavers. and Mips Arina K. Williams as the hostesses. j i ■■ RECENT BRIDE HONORED WITH PARTY A miscellaneous shower ’ was given Monday evening at the Iwrne of r Miss Shirley Rupert in honor of Mrs; Paul Sowards, who was married August 27. Upon her arrival. Mrs. Sowards |was presented with a lovely corsage of roses, and invited to the entertaining room, which was attractively decorated. ■NURSES ASSOCIATION HAS MEETING Thfe Adams County Nurses association met Thursday evening at the home, of Mrs. Robert Braden. After the t business meeting, conducted by Miss Mary Meyers, president. Miss Eloise Noll showed slides and gave, highlights of her European tour. Dessert was served to the thirty-nine members present And miniature airplanes as favors and napkins carried out the theme of the program. MEETS WITH DEWEY PLUMLEY Dewey Plumley, president, called the meeting to order and Rus-, sell Plumley led the group in singing “Have Thine Own Way. Lord.” Prayer was given by Chalmer Plumley and roll call was answered with scripture. Scripture for the evening was taken from Romans. followed by the hymn, “Tell Me The Story of Jesus.’’ The lesson on Africa was read and an open discussion followed. Y.P.M.B. pins were awarded seven members. “Rock of Ages’* was sung by the group and the meeting was closed with prayer bv Dorothy Knittie. - ; , Games were enjoyed and refreshments were served by the host, assisted by Russell Plumley.
