I Roll call was answered by members naming their favorite month of the year. The history of the song of the: month, “Go Down Moses,” was given by Mrs. Glen Stucky. The song was then sung by the group and the club creed repeated. Devotions, led by Mrs. Eva Brewster, were followed with the poem, “Think On These Things.” Mrs. Harry Crownover presented the lesson, “Family relations in the middle years.” During the social hour, refreshments were served by the hostess assisted by Mrs. Forest Ray, and Mrs. Martin Hoffman. W. S. C. S. HOLDS MEETING AT PLEASANT MILLS The Pleasant Mills Methodist W. S. C. S. held their September meeting Friday afternoon at the church. The president, Mrs. Harlen Jones, presided at the business meeting. Mrs. Hubert Ehrsam gave the devotions and lesson entitled “God’s Gift of the Outdoors." The hymn, “My Father’s World” was sung by the group followed with prayer given by Mrs. R. H. Everett and the Lord’s Prayer by the group. MISSIONARY CHURCH FELLOWSHIP. MEETS The Ladies* Fellowship of the Missionary church met recently in the social rooms of the church. - The business session opened with group singing of a hymn followed by the scripture lesson by Mrs. Herald Welty. Mrs. Ralph Myers announced the Indiana Ladies Missionary convention to be held Oct. 1, at the West Berne Missionary church. All ladies of the church are urged to attend. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in sewing and embroidering for the jnissionaries. The meeting was closed with prayer by Mrs. Harold Idle Wine. '> \ - ROTH-EDWARDS I . UP- A printing shop employe from Kutztown, Pa., said today he hoped his mother-in-law can take care of the children when his wife' goes on tour as “Mrs. America,” ‘ Z Kenneth Snyder, a photo offset operator, was proud that his wife ■ Erna had won the national beauty competition for married women. But the free trip to Guatemala and the four-week personal appearance tour that go with the title had _ him worried. Mrs. Snyder. 24, won the Mrs. America crown here Sunday night as the “Mrs. Pennsylvania” entry. victory over five other finalists came only 24 hours after “Miss Pennsylvania” won the title of “Miss America” at Atlantic City, N. J. ' Snyder said he had tried to talk his wife out of entering the contest. They have-two boys, Steven., 3, and Kevin. 1, and he was concerned about who would take care of them if she won. Mrs. Snyder, who has brown > eyes and brown hair, is five feet 4% inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. She has a 34 inch bust. 23 inch waist and 34 inch hips.
