GECODE CLUB HAS PARTIES * The Gecode club day party was held Wednesday/ beginning with a dinner at' six o’clock at the Moose home. "Gecode club is here again” was the theme of the party. Pupils of Mrs; Izora Butcher presented the program following the dinner. Larry Butcher, accompanied by Mrs. Bißcher, gave two vocal selections and Stevie Werling’two accordion numbers. Songs by Diana Shick wfere followed by a vocal duet and tap dance by Diana and Steve. The door prize was awarded to Eloise Noll. , At a later hour, bingo was played and prizes won by Marjory Shook, Mary Maloney, Helen Funk. Mamie Bashara. Guests other than the night shift were Jenny August and Mary Miller. Their party was completed by attending the W. 8. C. 8. .TO MEET AT PLEASANT MILLS The Women’s Society of Christian service, Ft. Wayne district, will hold the Adams county group meeting at the Pleasant Mills Methodist church Tuesday morning at nine o’clock. The address will be given by Miss Irene Hesselgfesser, a missionary w’ho served in Brazil from 1947 to 1953. The public is invited to attend this group meeting. MRS. Williams presented an interesting and informative lesson entitled “Better Breakfasts.’’ During the social hour, delicious refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Mary Erp. MRS. Wayne, the former Cathlene Wolfsen of Decatur. Upon her arrival, Mrs. Diaz was presented with a corsage and received many lovely gifts. Canasta was enjoyed and prizes won by Marian Koontz, Mrs. H. L. Koontz, Shirley fuelling and Mary Ann Swearingen, who in turn presented them to the bride. Decorations were in yellow, pink and green. Dessert was served from appropriately decorated tables in that motif. , Guests present were Mrs. H. L. Koontz. BRACEY HbSTESS AT MUSICALE AND TEA The Women’s Society oF Chris tian Service of the Methodist church opened their fall .meeting with a musicale and tea held at the home of Mrs. Lynford Bracey, Sr. Mrs. Erman Johnson was chairman of the combined worship and program.’ The topic of her discussion was “Jesus’ Ministry to Village People.’’ The dramatization, “A Sower Went Forth” was presented with the following cast of characters. Deborah. Mrs. Lloyd Cowens; Martha, Mrs. Leonard Soliday; Esther, Mrs. Niland Ochsenrider; Ruth, Mrs. Clyde Butler. Mrs. Paul Edwads, president, conducted the business meeting, and announced a group meeting to be held at Pleasant Mills Tuesday morning at nine o’clock. The musical program was presented by Miss Helen Haubold and Mrs. Harry Dailey. “I Believe”* was the opening vocal solo selected by Miss Haubold. Mrs. Dailey chose "Redwoods at Dawn,” piano solo, as her. opening number. “Dusk In A Garden” and "September Song,’’ sung by Miss Haubold, were followed with the piano selections, {“Brahms Waltz” and “Spanish Dance” by Mrs. Dailey. O’Keefe Jr. 31, Chicago, died Thursday in Doctors Hospital of injuries suffered in a Sept. 7 auto accident, which killed two others and injured his six-year-old daughter. \ O’Keefe add his daughter (were hurt critically in a two-car smashup on U.S. 20 west of here. Killed in the crash were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Settles, Gary. Farmer Killed When Light Plane Crashes FRANKFORT, Ind. UP — Willard Weese Jr., 25, Clinton County farmer, was killed late Wednesday when his light plane crashed as he stunted for hjs wife watching'from the \farm house. . His wife, Ida Beth, suffered arm burns when she ran to the crash scene and dragged her husband from the flaming wreckage. Parent Residence Sold At Auction | . In onp of the best attended auction sales of recent Cleo Heffner purchased the Adams street home of the late Mrs. William Parent for 812,100 Thursday night. The sale was conducted by Kent Realty and Auction Co., of this city and the bidding was lively. ' ' Personal property was sold during the afternpon and this part of the sale was also >condqctfed by the Kent organization. D. S. Blair and Gerald Strickler were the auctioneers.
