; To the school administrations, faculties and especially the who have participated in the drivers training programs. Your efforts to make our highways safer for yourselves and others is paying off, not only in lives paved, hut in hard earned cash. We can now offer reduced automobile insurance rates to many families with drivers under the ages of 25 if these young drivers have satisfactorily completed a drivers training school and have demonstrated they know and practice safe driving. This is another step towards closer cooperation between our schools, both public and and the business world. Today Is Fanner's Day At State Fair Serious Attendance Lag For State Fair. LVDIANAIPOLIS UP — The mainstay of the Indiana stat? fair, the Hoosier farmer, came into his own today as the 101st exposition celebrated farmer’s day with a program honoring the state’s agricultural advancements. However, fair officials believed th§ anticipated invasion of rural folk* would do little to help recoup a serious attendance lag. Wednesday’s official attendance of 63,887 was more than 10,00 below last figure and far under the 1948 record figure of 107,529. It was the third straight day attendance fell behind last year, and the seven-day total was about 4'5,000 under the 1952 mark. About 60,0p0 persons were expected to enter the gates today. A parade before the grandstand and continued judging of animals were to feature today’s program In addition, 184 members of 4-H clubs, a boy and girl from each county, were to be honored for their length of club participation Governor Craig, Lt. Gov. Harold Handley and the sponsoring farm bureau were to take part in the awards presentation. Trophies will be presented to winning parade ’ groups among 16 •high school and farm bands, 31 floats portraying “greater Indiana agriculture,” and 40 costumed pets shown by members of pet and hobby clubs. \ •Spectators at Wednesday night’s horse show were disappointed to learn Mrs. Arthur Godfrey was unable to appear when three Arabian steeds owned by her husbana entered the competition. Mrs. Godfrey said she was forced to remain at home because of family illness i “One of our nurses broke her wrist and the other had an emergency operation. I will stay at home because our children are all *ick" and my husband still needs care," she told fair officials. The Arabian stallion class was won by Hassen Pasha owned by Cedarell Farms of Plano, 111. One of Godfrey’s horses placed fourth. Tonight’s show will be highlighted by the *I,OOO world grand championship for junior fivbgaited horses, and two stallions And a mare are to part in a

Hurricane Threat Lessens In Florida Course Changed By Atlantic Hurricane MIAMI UP —A cregcent-shuped hurricane with winds of 100 miles an hour turned north-norfhwett-ward in the Atlantic today, skirting the Bahamas and lessening the danger to “Unless it changes course again there is no danger^to Florida,” chief forecaster Grady Norton, said. Norton said a storm scouting plane found the center of Hurricane Dolly, the fourth of the year, 610 miles a little south by east of Miami. “It has winds of 100 miles per hour or more and still is in the formative stage,” Norton said. “It Is shaped like an amphitheater with thel high winds and heavy weather in the north and east sides and open to the southwest.” > “The hurricane plane confirmed that it is moving at 10 miles per hour in a north-northwesterly direction,” he added. change if will carry it well east of us,” Norton called the storm a “potential” threat to Florida when it was found Wednesday moving in a west-northwesterly direction.
