Closed Theater Is Bad For Business SEABOARD, n. c. — Litye S-a board has a population of only 800, ibut it does have a ssp,ooty motion picture theater. However, local patronage was not heavy and after operating at a loss for some pMie the theater was' closed. Within six weeks local merchants reported that trade had dropped alarmingly. It was evident that the theater drew much out-of-town business into the community. Something had to be done. One merchant and the village postmaster pushed plans to reopen the theater. Fifteen merchants chipped in a weekly give-away purse as' a patronage builder for the theater. Exhibitor Service was delegated for buying and booking pictures.
