PATRICIA TREON WEDS BILL REICHERT Mias Patricia Lou Treon, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Treon of 357 Stevenson street, became the bride of William Reichert, Jr., only son of Mr. and Mrs. William Reichert Sr., of route 1, Monroe, Thursday evening at six thirty o’clock. The candlelight ceremony was read by the Rev. Traverse Chandler in the First Christian church, following a musicale by Miss Carol—Elzy. Jack Lawson as vocalist, sang "Because,” "O Sweet Mystery of Life” and "The Lord's Prayer” during the exchange of the double ring vows. ted bodicb featured a wing collar and long tulle sleeves which tapered to points over her wrists. The bouffant skirt was accordian pleated and highlighted with a lace apron. A two tiered lace juliet cap with a rolled tulle edge trimmed in small pearls, held in place her silk illusion Veil. A cascade arrangement of white roses made up the bridal bouquet. Mrs. Ned Riesen, Berne, was matron of honor and Miss Barbara Walters served as bridesmaids. Their dresses of yellow and orchid were of netjind taffeta, and they carried bouquets complementing their dresses. Mrs. Treon was present in a black dress with white accessories while Mrs. Reichert selected a tan silk dress of shantung with brown accessories. Leonard Schwartz served the groom as best man. Ushers were Ned Riesen, Jack (Runkle, James Striker and Palmer Schwartz. Immdeiately following the ceremony the reception took place in the church parlors. Serving the guests were the Misses Karen Strickler, Tilda Ensminger, Deloris Werling and Dolores Delauter. The bride graduated from Decatur high school, while the groom attended Monroe high school. Guests from a distance included Felix Rousseax, Mr. and Mrs. Chalmer Thieubeaux and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edsen Matthien. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davidson, Versailles, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs; Vernon Kimmery of Van Wert, Ohio. JUNE MEETING HELD BY HOMEMAKERS Thirteen members and four guests were present for the June meeting of the Happy Homemakers club, when the group met with Mrs. Herbert La-Fontaine. Mrs. Gerald Cook read the story of the song of the month, “In the Time of Roses.” Devotions were in charge of Mrs. P. Miller, who also reed a poem. Roll call was answered by each member giving her wedding date. The lesson on out door cooking was presented by Mrs. Carl Adler.

The group voted to have a picnic in July instead of the regular meeting. The club prayer closed the session. A social hour followed with games enjoyed. COUPLE TO OBSERVE i WEDDING ANNIVERSARY The Rev. and Mrs. Ezra Glendening of west of Geneva, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday with open house from two until five o’clock. In case of inclement weather the event will be held at the Geneva Methodist church. Rev. Glendening is a retired minister and a member of the North Indiana conference. The couple are the parents of five children, and have nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter. TRI KAPPA AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS Eighteen high school Students from Indiana, who will be graduated this month, will receive scholarship awards from Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority, it was announced at a recent meeting of the organization’s scholarship committee at the Claypool hotel, Indianapolis. This year’s scholarship fund amounts to six thousand dollars. Since Tri Kappa first started its scholarship program, over half a million dollars have been spent by

Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Simmons of Berne, are jhe parents of a 6 lb. baby gift, who was born today at the hospital at 6:23 a.m. > v Visit Is Made To LaGrange Hospital A visit Friday by county officials to the LaGrange county hospital revealed, according to reports, a wellrun modern institution of 40-bed capacity. On the inspection team were Cal Peterson, the hospital board, county commissioners and Miss Blanch Krick, Adams county memorial hospital business manager. The trip was made on a suggestion by ; the architect of the LaGrange hospital, A. M. Strauss, who has an eye to getting the contract for the |400,000 addition to the local hospital, if and when it goes through. i The king snake, rightly named, is more than a match for other snakes his size, says the National Geographic Society.
