One Killed, 10 Hurt As Truck Hits Bus Cattle Truck Hits Bus In Kentucky PADUCAH, Ky., UP —rA truck driver was killed and 10 persons were injured Tuesday night Ywhen. a cattle truck struck a Greyhound bus on the Kentucky approach to the Irvin Cobb bridge here. Police Said aft automobile aideswiped the truck, causing it to jackknife into the oncoming bus. The bus then plunged off the bridge approach into a field 15 feet below. Everett Gillespie, 42, Metropolis, ■, 111., believed to have been the driver of the truck, was dead on arrival at ia hospital. Robert Davis, 32, also c< Metropolis and in the truck wltji Gillespie, suffered severe lacerations, One bus passenger, Mrs. Avis Norence Jones, 42, Junction City, Kans., was Injured critically. Bus driver Ralph Jenkins, 32, St. Louis, was in serious condition with possible fractures of both legs. He also suffered from severe shock. - Five persons were injured less seriously. They were identified as Glenn Knapp, 51, St. Louis; Robert Raymer, s€, i Marion, Ky.; John Copeland, 79, East St. Louis, L. G. Bursey, Nashville, i"ennx and Ed Carrigan, 75, Paducah. Two persons were treated for minor Injuries and released from 1 .the hospital. They were Billy Don Jones, 16, and Marylin Peck, 6. The six-year-old girl is the granddaughter of-Mrs. Jones. ; .. Firemen had to cut Davis and Gillespie from the truck cab. Both were drenched by gasoline, but there was no fire.
