A ■/'* cause of his appointment as army chief of staff. Both generals are men of wide experience and abilRidgway has served in alt the top positions in the country’s military, setup, including his pogt as commander in Japan and enlarged with his command in West Germany. Gen. Gruenther is a veteran of World War II and Las served as deputy commander of NATO. In their new commands they might start unraveling some of the red tape in the Pentagon. 0 0 Our county of some 23,000 inhabitants should try to build a hospital that will be adequate for present and future needs. In the past 30 years since Adams County Memorial hospital was opened to the public, the third floor of the building has been converted into bedrooms for patients. Beds have been placed in the south sunrooms and during emergencies cots are lined in the corridors. The latter condition is not desirable and correction can come only/if more bedrooms are provided. The proposed addition to the building should be ample to servie a larger population and meet the demand for more hospital care. It would be easier to underbuild than overbuild. At least we should look ahead to the next 25 years, and ort that horizon a 100 r bed hospital does not loom too large. - 0 May Festival Week:— The retail merchants of the city will entertain you next week at a May Festival.; An amateur Show will be staged every everting and you'll enjoy seeing friends.or neighbors in the home talent skits. There will be bands and a mer-ry-go-round and .music galore.. Ah yes, bripg the children!
