Judge Denounces 'Teen-Age' Gangs Three Young Girls Are Scored By Judge CHICAGO, UP --A stern judge Monday told three teen-age girls, who knocked a policeman down and stole his nightstick, that gangs like theirs "are a worse danger than Communism.” Judge Thomas E. Kluczynski gave the three members of the “Blue Jeans Gahg” suspended sentences on delinquency charges — and then added a 'tongue lashing. “You’ve had a lot .of fun, lying and pushing the police* around, he said. “What's this country coming to when law and order must take abuse from kids like you?” The girls, iwho were not identified, wer6 demurely dressed in suits and white gloves. Police said they came from good families. They were 15, 16 and 17 years old. Kluczynski ordered that the clannish girls must not associate together as friends. Policeman James Duggan, 54, testified that the girls taunted him. took his nightstick away and then cooed "Come and take it away darling.” William Powers, an assistant theater manager, said he once ordered the girls and their gang to stay out of the theater because they "made a playground out of the place.” . r He said they then stormed the box-office and kept other patrons out of the theater. One girl spat in his face and scratched him, he said. The girl admitted to Kluczynski that she. spat and scratched, but said she did it because Morris was “disrespectful.” “What makes you think you deserve respect*" the judge asked. —-Hi— UNITED STATES (font I need From Page One) pressure to make good on the proposal.
