The regional youth fellowship of the Missionary churches will •be held at the West Missionary church, three miles \w«st of Berne, Friday at 7:30 p. m. The special speaker for this rally, will be the Rev. Harold walker of Detroit. Mich.-, Rev. Walker is well known in this county, having conducted the union evangelistic campaign in Rejrne as well as holding other evangelistic meetings in Decatur anti Berne areas. 1 • Other features of the rally will be a regional youth choir, instru- , mental and vocal numbers, quiz -• down and surprises. Travel Jammed By Christmas Throngs Holiday Travel Moy Set Up New Records By UNITED PRESS" fchristmas throngs Jammed rail, airline ancthighway systems today as they began their Yule treks to be with families and friends during the holiday. Many of’ them will never make The national safety coifncil predicted that 590 persons will die on the highways during the fourday holiday. If the council’s grim guess is correct the death toll will set a new all-time record, surpassing even the 555 Jefsons killed in traffic mishaps last Christmas. The New York Central railroad gave a typical report when it said traffic on its lines was “very heavy.’’ Temperatures were generally mild across the country—so mild, in* fact, that only portions of tlie midwest, southwest and mountain states had much chance for a white Christmas. Wednesday The Christinas"- high mass at St. Mary's Catholic church will be celebrated at 5 o’clock. Eight masses will follow, the last one being at 10 o’clock, folowed by benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. A visiting priest is assisting the Very Rdv. Msgr. J. J. Selmetz and the ReV.
