Operating a big sea-going, airluxury yacht like the Williamsburg apparently would riot set with Eisenhower’s theories of eeonomy. y . ’ I i xknbther factor possibly influencing lijs thinking, is that the next [’resident is not keen about following $o closely Mr. Truman’s way of liife. ’. Sliatigri La is located iq the Ca toctip Mountains near Thurmont, Md..,75 miles north of Washington. Mr. Roosevelt established it during World War 11 as a place to get seclusion, ripst arid relief from- the oppressive' heat and humidify of Washington. Mr; Trumau used Shangri La infrequently, but members of his staff like-to take guests there in suniruer. Shangri La is staffed by the navy, usually crewmen from the Williamsburg. \ | Eisenhower reportedly would like to. have a small fishing camp mucH like Hoover’s Rapidan where he cbuld spend the weekend.
