Defense Bond Sales increase In County T. F. Graliker, chairman of the Adams county defense bond committee, has received a report re* veiling that-defense bond sales for the county during October were 134,411 as compared with $20,419 tor the corresponding period of last year. Defense bond sales for the state last month were $10,062,171 as against $8,987,817 for October 1951, a gain of £bre than 11 per cent. Fifty-eight counties reported defense bond sales gains as follows: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Clark Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Delaware, Elkhart, Fayette, Floyd, Fountain, Franklin, Grant, Gijeene, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Jay, Jefferson, Jennings, Knox, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Lake, LaPorte, Lawrence, Marion. Martin, Miami, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan. Newton, Ohio,- Orange, Parke, Pike, Posey, Pulaski, Putnam, Randolph, Ripley, Scots, Spencer, St. Joseph, Starke, Switzerland. Tippecanoe, Vanderburgh. Vermillion, Vigo, Warren, Warrick; Washington, Wayne and Whitley. - Scheduled Township Meeting Cancelled Announcement was made today that the scheduled Tuesday night meeting of the Washington township extension committee at the Reinaker school has been cancelled. The meeting was cancelled because of a conflict with other activities. n \ : —■»-—— Tuesday Final Day For Filing Claims Tomorrow is the last day for filing claims to be considered at the next meeting of the county commissioners December 1, said county auditor Thurman I Drew', today. Geimer-Durr Drain Will Be Dredged Twenty-nine farmers of Union lownship met at the county auditor's office Saturday afternoon and voted to dredge the GeimerDurr drain, which serves Union township. Chairman of the meeting was county survej’Or Herman Moellering. who stated he will survey the ditch within the next two weeks. The project will be financed by assessment to the farmers involved.
