FINE ARTS TEA HELD FRIDAY AFTERNOON Members of the Federation of clubs spent an enjoyable Friday afternoon, when they met for the fine arts tea held at the American Legion hornet Mrs. Gerald Durkin, president, presided at tpe meeting. Several selections were sung by the Adams county chorus followed with an interesting; talk by Mary Hall of Fort Wayne on home fashions. . TJie tables were attractively set with lace cloths, a fiuit centerpiece and silver. Mrs. Durkinand Mrs. R. C. Hersh, vice-president of the eighth district, presided at the-tea table. ( -q.f'--Guests for the enjoyable affair were Mrs. Lon Nossett, Mrs. J. D. Sarig and Mrs. Earl Everts all of Muncie. Hostesses fpr the day were members of the Root Township home economics club, the Jolly Hfchisewife club of St. Mary’S Towpship and the Decatur Home Economics club. \ ADAMS COUNTY NURSES V MEET FOR DEMONSTRATION A large group of'Adams county nurses attended a demonstration under the direction of Mrfc. Ives, assistant director of nu rses, at the "Lutheran hospital nurs es home in Fort Waynp, Thursdajl evening. ■ Miss Price, pediatric instructor, and Miss. Gaser, -pediatric . supervisor, explained the use and mechanical principles of the iron lung. General care of a pailent in the\ lung was demonstrated with the assistance of a student- nurse. Following the most interesting program, the nurses were' conducted on a toiir of the various class and workrooms of the nurseis home. 6 jf Refreshments were served by Mrs. Ives and her assistants. y CALVARY W. S. W. S. HOLDS NOVEMBER MEETINO The Noviember meeting of the W. S. W. S. of\ the Calvary? Evangelical United Brethren church was held with the Rev. and Mrs. L. W. Strcing. Mrs. Diright Darr and Mrs. Robert L. Brown were co-hostesses. V j Doris McDermett gave the topic, “We Give Thanks for, the Living Word,” followed with several hymns sung by the members. A Thanksgiving reading was presented ,by Geneva Drake, and Judith Ann Darr sang a solo.
