' Robert Brjwn, Mrs. Wesley Leh- - man, Mrs| Vincent Parker and - Mrs. Lowell Noll. Mrs. Don Coc|i* ran received a game prize. The business meeting followed with the group deciding to pack boxes for [their sons overseas at the next meeting. Devotions were given by 3|rs. Erman Johnson and the lesson| by Mrs. Herbert Zerkel, Jr., add Mrs. Winston Rawley’: Gay decorations were u sed the entertaining rooms and refreshments were served from an | appointed table with lighted tapers. While the guests enjoyed thje refreshments, Mrs. Hiles gave readings from Little Orphan Annie. . ■ The committee for fh.e affair were MrsJ-Hi.les, Mrs. Walter Ford, Mrsl Robert Smith, Mrs. Roy Friedley and Mrs. Everett Hutker. Delta Theta Tau Holds Inspection On Thursday

Formal initiation and Inspection will be held at six o'flock that evening at the K. of C hall. The banquet ; will follow at seven o’clock in the C. L. of C. hall. The active members, several members-at-large and the alumni group will be present for the impressive affair. Initiation services will be held for the new members, Miss Joan Fuelling, Miss Mpry Lou York, -Mrs. Dick Mansfield, JrJ Mrs. Lyle*“Mallonee, and Mrs. Bill Delta Theta Tau is organized for the advancement of philanthropy and ,each chapter sponsors some charity project, in community. A joint meeting of the Pleasant Dale Ladies Aid and the W. C. T. U. will be held Thursday all day in the parish hall. The Ladies Aid of Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church will meet at seven thirty o’clock Thursday evening in the church basement. Hostesses will ne Mrs. Dick Shaffer. Mrs. Homer Bittner and Mrs. Frank Fisher. Class 6 of the Union Evangelical United Brethren church, taught by Mrs. Norris Riley, will have their class party with Mr. and .Mrs, Fred Freewalt at seven thirty o’clock Friday evening. Mrs. James Krick will have charge of devotions. An all day meeting will be held Thursday in the Union Chapel church by the Ladies Aid of t|ie church. City Council Will Meet Tuesday Night City councilmen will meet in regular session tomorrow- night but will attempt to make it brief to hear election night returns come in. Raymond Kohne, member of the city library board, will come up for reappointment to the board for the next four years. The deed to the Stratton place playground, donated by John Worthman, will be deliveredj to the city at tomorrow’s meeting, it \ is reported. In an interview today, • city attorney Robert Anderson said he has still received no reply from the state highway commission regarding the city’s request that Monroe street be repaired in spots. Anderson said this topic will definitely come up for discussion. Cafncer campaign and other health and social service associations. 7= Decatur Omicron chapter has as its biggest project during the year, its well known Good f’ellows club. Each year the group, together with 1 help from the entire city, donates food, clothing and toys to less fortunates in Decatur' during the Christmas season. 1 Last year more than seventythree families And more than that number of children' were assisted and Christmas made more pleasant. Delta Theta Tau sorority, Inc., is outstanding for a community school at Brinkley, Ky., a home for teachers, they received a certificate of achievement from the United States navy in recognition of merK torious and outstanding services rendered during World War 11. for the establishment of a Brace shop at Mare Island, bringing projected readers for disabled. veterans and starting occupational therapy pro-, jects in several veterans’ hospitals throughout the country. The \sorority’s latest national project is Chkrman, House, a. home for teen-age in Topeka, Kan. It Was just established this year and plans evfentuallv are to have several such homes .throughout the country . • For five years the sorority has been raising funds for the establishment of h homo for its own members. This coming summer, when the gropp celebrates its golden anniversary in Co’umhus, Ohio, definite plans for tho building of this home wih be proposed. The sorority is governed by a national council and board of trustees. i A

Miss Betty-Millef returned from Paducah, ■ Ky.,' Friday ' evening where shej : attended funeral services for l|er half-brother, C G. Sims. Mr. Sims, son of the Jate Rev. and Mrs. Owen Sims, was born in Blue Creek Twp. and moved to Kentucky as a young boy. He Was a well known radio engineer* a|nd his death[ caused by a cerebral Memmorhage, was unexpected. His wife and two daughters survive.
