Yellow Jackets Battle Fort Wayne Central To 7-7 Tie In Final Game

Morrison found Pollock with a pass and the Jackets* halfback raced to the Central seven before; he was downed. Morrison then fired
a short 1 one to Jim Rowley, who gathered the pigkitin in at the Central goal line for the. touchdown. Row-ley then cracked the Central line for the extra point and the score was tied at 7-7, the eventual final score. Three Games Open County Net Season On Saturday Night The Adama county high school basketball season will open Saturday night, with four teams involv-" ed ih three games. Feature attraction will be thd, batUe between the Geneva' Cardinals and the v Berne Bears, to be played at the Geneva gym. In other games tomorrow, Adams Central will play iat Bryant, and Pleasant MUls will be at Wren, O. Another opener is scheduled next Tuesday night, when the Decatur Commodores tangle with the Spartans at Pleasant Mills. Independent Net League Formed Here Formation of the Decatur independent basketball league was announced today, with the schedule to get underway next Tuesday night. Six teams are entered in the league, and three games will be each Tuesday night, with all league games at the Lincqln school gym in this city. There will be no admission charge, and the public is invited to attend. 1 Teams entered are ttye Knights of Pythias, Knights of Columbus and McMillen, all of Decatur; The Berne Merchants, Wren and Willshire, O. \ 1 Starting times for the league games will be 6:30, 7:30 and 8:45. No more than. 10 players can be certified, with the deadline for certification Jan. 1, 1953. Bill Lehman is president of the (league and Boyd Rayer is secre-tary-treasurer. The league schedule will run until Feb. 10, and will be followed by a playoff, with all league teams entered. A playoff trophy will be awarded by the First State Bank of Decatur.
